The Automation Engineer designs and implements automation solutions for Windows and Linux infrastructure, ensuring efficiency, security, and compliance across multiple environments.
Job Summary
As an Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and deploying automation solutions to improve the efficiency, reliability, and security of our Windows, Linux, and cloud infrastructure. You will join a team of engineers who support various configuration and services, such as Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint, SQL Server, Azure, GCP, and AW S. You will also collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment on best practices, standards, and policies.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement automation solutions using PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, Python, or other tools, to streamline and optimize operational processes, such as provisioning, configuration, patching, backup, recovery, monitoring, and auditing.
- Engineer solutions utilizing C#, C++, JavaScript, and .Net languages.
- Manage the Windows and Linux infrastructure across multiple sites and environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to Windows and Linux infrastructure and automation, as well as provide root cause analysis and remediation plans.
- Follow Windows and Linux infrastructure and automation standards, guidelines, and procedures, and conduct regular reviews and audits to ensure compliance.
- Assist with planning, coordination, and execution of Windows and Linux infrastructure and automation projects, including scoping, budgeting, scheduling, resourcing, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
- Research and evaluate new technologies and solutions that can improve the Windows and Linux infrastructure and automation capabilities of the company.
- Integrate automation solutions with third-party tools and services to ensure seamless collaboration across multiple platforms.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in Windows and Linux infrastructure and automation, preferably in a large-scale and complex environment.
- Expert knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint, SQL Server, Azure, AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, and their related protocols, features, and best practices.
- Proficient in scripting and automation using PowerShell, Python, Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, Puppet, or other tools, as well as experience with DevSecOps methodologies and practices.
- Strong understanding of Linux systems and API integration.
- Experience with development team management software including JIRA, GitLab, Confluence, Fisheye/Crucible.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills, and attention to detail and quality.
- Excellent communication, collaboration skills, and the ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Relevant OS, Cloud, or Automation certifications (Ex: Microsoft MCSA/MCSE AZ-104, Comptia Linux+, Hashicorp Terrafrom Associate, GCP Cloude Engineer/Architect etc.) preferred but not required.
