Job Description

National General is on the lookout for an Auto Claims Supplement Writer! We need someone with a knack for writing supplements in the insurance world, preferably within a carrier environment. The right fit will thrive under pressure, have a strong tech-savvy streak (you'll be navigating various systems, including Virtual Assist where you'll be on camera), and be resilient. This role focuses exclusively on East Coast claims and requires residency in the EST time zone. If you're ready to make a real impact, this could be the perfect fit for you!

** We are seeking a skilled Auto Supplement Estimate Writer to join our team! If you have experience in insurance carrier supplemental estimating, we’d love to hear from you! This is a virtual desk role, with no fieldwork required. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing their claims diary, confident in negotiating with body shops, and enthusiastic about taking on new challenges while growing within the organization. Job Description

We are seeking someone with experience writing estimates, handling supplements, and who is skilled at negotiating with body shops. The primary job function for this role is writing and handling supplements.

Key Responsibilities

• Possesses strong estimating fundamentals in order to create or audit estimates of damages on 1st and 3rd party material damage losses of all severities

• Possesses a deep understanding of the content of all policy types written by the company

• Negotiates settlements, makes settlement payments and documents all activities in the most complex of files across multiple lines

• Evaluates settlement alternatives by reviewing regulatory compliance and fair claims practices; makes decisions on best option

• Builds mastered relationships with both internal and external customers across multiple lines

Education

• 4 year Bachelors Degree (Preferred)

Experience

• 4+ years as a field appraiser or estimate writer for an insurance carrier.

Education & Experience (in lieu)

• In lieu of the above education requirements, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Ability to obtain and maintain adjuster licenses as required

Functional Skills

  • Possess knowledge of estimatics software (Mitchell/CCC/Audatex, etc.).
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to operate electronic devices including computers, cameras and cell phones.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective skills in time management, organization, and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to adhere to project deadlines and remain flexible in a changing environment.

Compensation

Base compensation offered for this role is $34.00/hr.- $37/hr. (hourly) and is based on experience and qualifications.

Total compensation for this role is comprised of several factors, including the base compensation outlined above, plus incentive pay (i.e. commission, bonus, etc.) as applicable for the role.
