The Hartford’s Tech, Data, Analytics and Cyber organization is seeking recent college graduates to build their Software Engineering career in Hartford, Connecticut or Charlotte, North Carolina.  In this role, associates will grow in the Software Engineering track, providing development support for The Hartford’s critical applications and assets. The Tech Catalyst program provides a period of instruction to develop critical functional skills directly related to your role. You will build skills needed to participate in the entire software development lifecycle in support of information technology projects, using emerging technologies and common practices. 

This role is a hybrid position located in Hartford, CT and Charlotte, NC. Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship now and in the future.

  • Interest in software development, working on an Agile engineering team, technology, and problem solving
  • Excellent communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organization skills
  • Ability to plan time and organize priorities, and pivot to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities 

  • Utilize platforms (such Angular, React, Java and .NET) and cloud technologies to develop applications that support organizational goals
  • Utilize programming languages and software technology while applying disciplined software engineering practices
  • Develop or modify software application modules, using disciplined software engineering practices
  • Engage in work that is guided by more senior members of the team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree – May 2026 graduates
  • A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (out of 4.0 scale) at the time of graduation
  • Desired majors include, but are not limited to: Computer Science, Engineering, IT, Management Information Systems, Applied Mathematics
  • Desired candidates have prior programming experience in college and group settings
  • Provide evidence of knowledge and experience in programming languages like CSS, HTML, JavaScript, Java, SQL, .NET or Python
  • Possess the technical, analytical and communication skills to solve problems, create technical solutions and tell the story about how your work enables the business in addressing our customer needs

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$69,200 - $103,800
