The Associate Product Manager supports data product execution, manages data platforms, assists with data contracts and quality, and contributes to product launches.
The Associate Product Manager (Data Platform) supports the delivery of customer-facing data shares and listings across platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery and S3, helping make Lightcast data easy for customers to access and use.This is an early-career role designed for candidates with 1–2 years of experience who are looking to grow into a Technical Product Manager path. The role focuses on product execution, data platform operations, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure data products are reliable, compliant, and easy for customers to consume.You will contribute to backlog execution, data contract management, and product launches while gaining hands-on experience with modern data platforms and increasing ownership over time.
Major Responsibilities:
- Product Execution & Backlog Support
- Build an understanding of customer use cases and how Lightcast data is consumed across external data platforms
- Translate requirements into epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria
- Support backlog prioritization and ensure engineering teams are unblocked and delivering against roadmap commitments Data Platform & Distribution Management
- Maintain and publish datasets across Snowflake Secure Shares/Marketplace, Databricks Delta Sharing, BigQuery Analytics Hub, and S3 deliveryEnsure data listings and entitlements are accurate and delivered within SLAs Data Contracts & Governance
- Support the definition and maintenance of data contracts, including schemas, versioning, and deprecation processes
- Assist with compliance efforts related to PII, access control, lineage, and auditability Data Quality & Reliability
- Monitor data quality (freshness, null values, duplicates) and flag issues
- Help maintain high standards for reliability and customer trust Product Launch & Support
- Contribute to product launches through documentation, changelogs, and internal enablement
- Assist with incident triage and root cause analysis (RCA) Platform Growth & Adoption
- Track usage across platforms and identify opportunities to increase adoption
- Support initiatives that drive measurable growth in usage
Education and Experience:
- 1–2 years of experience in product, data, analytics, or a related field
- Exposure to data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery)
- Basic understanding of SQL or data concepts
- Familiarity with data quality, governance, or security concepts
- Experience working in agile environments with exposure to backlog management
- Strong written communication skills, including user stories and documentation
- Ability to collaborate across engineering, data, legal, security, and GTM teams
