Title: Associate - Pricing and Valuation Operations

Job Summary
Barings is seeking a motivated individual with strong analytical skills and a strong attention to detail for the Securities Pricing and Valuation operations team. This individual will be responsible for key components of our diverse asset type valuations, including bonds, stocks, derivative instruments and private assets.
The position includes preparation of variance analysis; review and research issues related to corporate ratings, data quality or client related queries. You will work directly with other areas within Barings, including portfolio managers, investment analysts and the systems department to resolve production issues in a timely fashion.
Primary Responsibilities
This position also includes the following responsibilities:
- Preparation and review of materials from internal clients and external valuation agents.
- Responding to clients, internal stakeholders, fund custodians and administrators with regards to valuation issues or changes that impact funds.
- Providing documentation for ad hoc audit requests and audit oversight of key controls.
- Updating training materials as business standards and processes change.
- Learning multiple systems and workflows to ensure deliverables are completed in a timely fashion daily. While also looking for ways to advance process and the business needs.
- Reviewing daily exception reports, validating output and overall review for accuracy to ensure data is fit for purpose.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, CFA candidate preferred.
- Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, SQL or VBA.
- Familiarity with fund valuation framework, reporting requirements and risks.
- Previous experience with mitigating risk from an operational and valuation standpoint.
- Proven experience developing, deploying and integrating control within an operation setting.
- Candidate must be able to work later hours until 6:00 / 6:30pm or later if required.
- This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as on a team
- Ability to think quickly, track current issues and act where needed are attributes a candidate must possess.
Base Salary Range: $65,000- $75,000 (includes additional performance based incentive programs)
