About The Team

This Legal team partners across every function at Life360 to provide client-focused legal services and advice that enable growth and efficiency for the Company's consumer software and hardware business lines, as well as its new advertising initiatives. We collaborate closely with several teams, including Ads, Finance, Product, Privacy, Engineering, and Devices.

About the Job

We are seeking an Associate Legal Counsel, Product & Privacy, Ads with experience in advising ad-tech companies to join our expanding legal team. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with teams across Life360 to advise on product development and privacy matters related to our advertising business. 

In this role, you will counsel product, engineering, and marketing teams on privacy, consumer protection, and content regulation matters in the ad-tech space. You will act as the primary legal point of contact on such matters for Ad Sales and Ads Product Managers. You will report to the Deputy General Counsel for Product & Privacy, and collaborate closely with other horizontal cross-functional teams, such as Marketing, Comms and the Infrastructure team.

The US-based salary range for this position is $ 129,000 to $ 190,000. We take into consideration an individual's background, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience in determining final salary. Base pay may also vary based on geographic location, with US work locations falling into one of three geographic tiers.

Total compensation is inclusive of equity compensation in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, financial, and other benefits. 

What You’ll Do
  • Advise ads engineering and product teams on legal and regulatory issues throughout the product development lifecycle. The Life360 Ads Platform includes an SSP and a DSP business, among other products and services.
  • Provide counsel on privacy and data protection matters related to ad tech, ensuring compliance with regulations such as the GDPR and CCPA.
  • Advise on content regulation matters - including ads content policies and enforcement - to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Advise on marketing matters related to the B2B ads business.
  • Monitor and provide guidance on evolving international privacy, consumer protection, and technology regulations in the ad-tech space, helping Life360 stay ahead of regulatory trends.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement risk management strategies.
What We’re Looking For
  • 5+ years of legal experience in product counseling and privacy counseling in the ad-tech space is a prerequisite, including experience directly advising software product managers and engineers.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience advising software product managers and engineers on consumer protection matters.
  • J.D. from an accredited law school and membership in at least one state bar. 
  • CIPP/US certification preferred.
