  • Oversee creation of and write event language and recap articles as assigned
  • Build attendee lists for editorial roundtables across a variety of topics
  • Prep moderators for interviews by putting together research, scripts and questions
  • Serve as an editorial producer onsite for events
  • Live tweet and create post event content newsy segments as assigned
  • Consolidate event recaps + coverage for LinkedIn posts and Axios webpage content
  • Ensure that our events portfolio reflects our editorial standards, diverse points of view, and help Axios stay at the forefront of news
  • Assist newsroom during live events to ensure all event materials are easily/immediately accessible for breaking news moments
  • Ability to scout, pitch, and book editorially sound newsmakers for onstage moments as assigned

The details: Ideal candidates will embody an entrepreneurial spirit, and a passion for Axios’ mission, journalism and have the following skills:

  • 3-5 years of journalism experience
  • Events experience is highly preferred
  • TV news producing experience is highly preferred
  • Experience working with editors and reporters in a newsroom
  • Excellent writing and research skills
  • Familiarity with Axios Smart Brevity writing style and communication
  • Proven editorial judgment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of digital and social media landscape
  • Possesses a diverse and extensive rolodex
  • Ability to perform in high-pressure situations and meet deadlines
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Video editing experience a plus

Starting salary for this temporary role is in the range of $5,800/month - $8,300/month and is dependent on numerous factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, and skills. This range does not include other compensation and benefits. Axios' compensation philosophy takes into account cost of labor differentials across the country. Because this is a remote-optional job posting, this salary range takes into account all possible locations within the United States, but candidates will only be eligible for the salary range for their location.
