The Associate Corporate Counsel role at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. presents a remarkable opportunity to work within the Genetic Science & Clinical Sequencing Divisions (“GSD&CSD”). As an outstanding member of our Life Sciences Solutions Legal team, you will contribute to ambitious projects and collaborate with world-class professionals.
What Will You Do?
- Serve as the central point of contact for GSD&CSD business units leadership team, guiding them on legal, operational, and business issues.
- Draft, negotiate, and manage the execution of a variety of commercial contracts, including OEM and supply contracts, technology licenses, and joint development agreements, ensuring flawless legal transactions.
- Analyze legal rights, risks, obligations, and strategies to help the Company achieve its commercial goals.
- Develop and update contractual documents, continuously improving processes to ensure efficient support.
- Respond to inquiries and advise GSD&CSD employees on relevant laws and internal policies.
- Deliver legal training programs to internal clients on business and contractual matters.
- Support litigation, intellectual property, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory, and employment matters impacting GSD&CSD businesses.
How Will You Get Here?
- 8+ years relevant legal experience required, preferably in-house, representing life sciences or regulated-sector companies.
- J.D. degree (US) or equivalent, admission to a state bar, and significant experience in life sciences or patent law preferred.
- Strong legal competence, business savvy, and influencing skills to drive strategy to action.
- Ability to work independently with minimal instruction on new projects or assignments.
- Proficient in spoken and written English with strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Competence in solving complex problems and paying attention to details in contracts and regulations.
- Travel is estimated at 10-15% (as business conditions permit).
