How You'll Make an Impact
- Follow all established process and procedures of Computer Operations and Support Desk environments
- Work collaboratively with immediate teammates and under guidance of the supervisory and management staff
- Work towards earning the trust and confidence of management to independently follow processes and procedures as a key success measure
- Build an understanding of the purpose, significance and nuances of the applications and services hosted in the Data Centers and supported by Enterprise Operations Center
- Provide input to Operations and Support Desk policies and ensures that tall documentation requirements of shift events are met
- Communicate the status of systems and events during shift in a turnover scenario
- May be responsible for providing shift statistics to include success/failure ratios, issue description and resolution
- Assist the Support Desk by covering telephone and e-mail duties
- Assist in maintaining process and procedural documents in support of the Computer Operations Environment
Working Conditions
- Office environment
- Work Hours: 12-hour shift, 3 day/4 day work weeks possible nights and/or weekends
- Expected to work overtime as part of their normal shift coverage and while covering open slots on various shifts due to illness, vacation or personal time as well as working some holidays
- Sitting for extended periods of time
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and to handle other computer components
- Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals and tape transport containers

Required Qualifications
Education
- Associate's degree in Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience
- Computer Operations experience
- Experience working in a multifunctional, team-oriented and collaborative environment
Skills
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
- Effective customer service orientation
- Ability to build proficiency in all current command level interfaces with hosted Operating Systems for AS/400 and in Open Systems comprised of Windows and UNIX Operating Systems
- Ability to communicate information effectively in both written and oral form
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute multiple tasks in a fast paced, high pressure environment
- Demonstrated ability to manage own time in unsupervised situations
- Ability to present support information, processes and procedures and instruction in user-friendly language
- Ability to absorb and retain information quickly
- Ability to work a variety of shifts
Preferred Qualifications
Experience
- 1+ years of experience working with open systems environment utilizing an enterprise scheduling package such as tidal, or BMC Patrol OR 1+ years of experience working in a large-scale customer support center or support desk environment
Skills
- Working knowledge of issue ticketing and reporting software such as Remedy or Service Desk
