The Hartford’s Personal Insurance business provides automobile, homeowners and personal umbrella coverages to individuals across the United States. The business includes The AARP® Automobile and Homeowners Insurance Program serving more than 37 million members.

The Assistant Director is a key member of the Countrywide Auto Product Team within Personal Insurance.  This position is responsible for understanding everything that impacts top and bottom line results, research and analysis of root causes, identifying opportunities and enhancements that will improve performance/results, and sharing conclusions and recommendations with leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Crafting and analyzing data in preparation for Monthly Business Reviews.

  • Ad-hoc analyses on retention, competitor actions, macroeconomic trends and impacts to top and bottom line.

  • Forecasting, CBA creation and analyzing data in the auto line of business for initiatives and projects/test and learns.

  • Influence Line Performance Analysis, monitoring, reporting, and recommending actions.

  • Complete complex analysis of data in support of the various projects achieving and or exceeding financial targets, revenue, net income, etc., while developing recommendations for sustained long term success.

  • Independently lead moderately complex projects which typically span one year through design & build, rollout, implementation and monitoring while adhering to project management discipline.

  • Participate in larger new initiatives and may lead a functional work stream to develop and deliver products with limited oversight.

  • Leading and partnering with cross functional teams in the execution of business initiatives and projects.

  • Specific cross functional teams with significant partnership include State Product Management, Agency and Direct Distribution Channel and Marketing, Claims, Legal and Compliance, Operations including Billing Ops, IT, DS and Strategy.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • 3+ years of prior relevant work experience, 5+ years insurance experience preferred

  • Demonstrated usage of Microsoft Office products, including Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Demonstrated critical thinking on complex business problems.

  • Ability to independently lead cross functional teams.

  • Proven ability using data and analysis to recommend solutions to complex problems.

This role can have a Hybrid or Remote work schedule.  Candidates who live near one of our office locations will have the expectation of working in an office three days a week (Tuesday through Thursday). Candidates who do not live near an office will have a remote work schedule, with the expectation of coming into an office as business needs arise. 

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$104,000 - $156,000
