Position Summary:Chewy is seeking a Regulatory Compliance Auditor, Food Safety, to join our team and ensure the safe handling of food and drug products across our operations! This role will focus on ensuring alignment to FDA directives at both the local and federal levels and inspecting sites to verify compliance with Chewy's food safety guidelines. The Compliance Auditor will play a significant part in identifying improvement opportunities within our food safety processes and ensuring the continued success and regulatory adherence of Chewy's Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP).

What you'll do:
- Conduct comprehensive site inspections to assess adherence to FDA regulations and Chewy's internal food safety policies, identifying non-compliance areas and potential risks.
- Audit the Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) to verify that imported items meet U.S. safety standards, reviewing documents and processes in collaboration with the Sr. Program Manager, Food Safety.
- Ensure suppliers meet FDA standards by performing regular audits and implementing a robust review process to confirm compliance when changes in supplier operations, incidents, or customer feedback prompt reevaluation.
- Document findings, assess areas for improvement, and develop action plans to improve food safety practices and maintain an adherent program design.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across Chewy's operations, guiding teams on standard methodologies and policy adjustments to maintain high food safety standards.
- Coordinate supplier audits as a Qualified Auditor (FDA-defined), conducting assessments of suppliers and reviewing documentation when third-party audits are used.
- Stay current on FDA food safety regulations and industry standard processes, ensuring Chewy remains compliant and well-prepared for FDA audits and inspections.
What you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Public Health, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in internal audit, compliance, or related field preferred
- Strong understanding of FDA CFR21 and Food Code regulations.
- FDA certified Food Code or CFR 21 trainer
- Internal Audit Certification by a governing body such as the IFPTI or NSF
- FSPCA FSVP, HACCP and PCQI certified.
- Qualified Auditor or Qualified Individual as defined by the FDA, with experience in food safety compliance auditing.
- Proven track record in identifying and mitigating food safety risks, proficient in supplier compliance and regulatory audits.
- Thorough and analytical, with the ability to assess compliance status and implement corrective actions efficiently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience providing training on food safety and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to balance multiple audits, prioritize tasks, and support continuous process improvement.
