Job Summary: This position is responsible for providing product technical and application support to the Sales and customer base and acts as a liaison between customer and engineering/manufacturing/quality teams for new product development and quality related activities.

What you will be doing:

  • Provide technical product engineering support to Sales team & and customers.
  • Assist customers with product application issues and current product design changes.
  • Work with the Sales team and to gather customer requirements for product launch and new product development.
  • Support new growth and existing business sales through on-site visits with Sales team.
  • Conduct product focus groups and analyze & and summarize feedback.
  • Provide input on product information via knowledge of competitor’s activities and new products applications to the Sales, Marketing and Engineering teams. Capture voice of customers for new products.
  • Liaison with UL/CSA and engineering on product specifications, testing, and standards.
  • Monitor code compliance and NEC code changes.
  • Liaison between customer and Manufacturing, Quality and Engineering teams.
  • Conduct product quality audits.
  • Prepare product literature which includes sell sheets and brochures for customers, and product instructional videos.

What you will bring to the team: 

  • General knowledge of the principles and practices of application and product engineering,
  • Ability to develop long-term plans and programs and to evaluate work accomplishments.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with peers, customers, and business partners.
  • Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form.
  • Ability to track activities effectively and close them in a timely manner.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft applications such as Word and Excel. 
  • Willingness to learn new things.
  • Ability to take on additional responsibilities as necessary.

Requirements

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (Mechanical or Electrical engineering) 
  • 3-5 years’ experience in field sales and/or technical support in mechanical, electrical, electronic and/or lighting industry.  
  • Product knowledge in the electrical industry and about the casting process is a plus.
  • Knowledge or experience of new product development process
  • Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Six Sigma Greenbelt certification or design for certification is a plus

Travel: Some domestic and international travel is required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting, with computer and other office machine usage.
  • Prolonged periods of standing/walking
  • Fluent speech with the ability to communicate using telephone.
