APAC BD Lead (Data)

We are looking for an elite APAC BD Lead covering Asia-Pacific hours to scale our ecosystem's liquidity and data footprint, specifically driving the adoption of Pyth Pro. You will serve as the primary bridge between our network and Asia's most sophisticated trading firms, market makers, and exchanges. You will also be responsible for expanding the institutional footprint for Pyth Pro across APAC markets.

This role is for a high-level operator who understands the plumbing of modern markets: someone who can speak the language of a Quantitative Trader one hour and a C-suite exchange executive the next. You will be responsible for driving the supply side of our network (onboarding institutions who can provide real-time market data from primary sources) and the demand side (pitching Pyth Pro to institutional consumers such as exchanges, traders, and hedge funds).

Location: Singapore or Hong Kong | Priority Hubs: Singapore, Hong Kong

Language: English (Fluent); Mandarin (Valuable but not required)

About Our Team and Your Role

We are a well-rounded team: half of us are tech whizzes, while the other half excel in building partnerships with institutional clients, trading desks, and the global financial infrastructure community. Communication is key to our network-driven approach.

Remote Work: Our team is spread across the globe, from the US and South America to Europe and Asia. We are a digital-first organization where remote work is the norm.

Startup-level Speed: We thrive in the dynamic DeFi space and love adaptable problem solvers who are hungry, entrepreneurial, and eager to meet the evolving needs of the market.

The Mission: You will be architecting partnerships that define the future of market data. Your focus will be Pyth Pro, our institutional-grade data solution designed for sophisticated buyers who require the highest fidelity, lowest latency, and most reliable feeds directly from primary sources.

Your ResponsibilitiesDrive Network Supply (Market Makers & Data Providers)
  • Identify, pitch, and onboard top-tier Market Makers and Trading Firms to contribute high-quality data to the network.

  • Leverage your institutional relationships while aggressively building new partnerships with leading CEXs, DEXs, and Asia-Pacific financial institutions to expand our data footprint.

  • Navigate complex negotiations with institutional entities, from tier-1 banks to sophisticated trading desks, to ensure our network becomes the standard for Asia-Pacific institutional markets.

Scale Pyth Pro Adoption (Demand Side)
  • Lead the sales and partnership effort for Pyth Pro, identifying institutional consumers (Hedge Funds, Asset Managers, High-Frequency Traders, and Prime Brokers) who require premium, low-latency data feeds.

  • Effectively communicate the technical and economic value proposition of Pyth Pro to sophisticated buyers with deep market knowledge.

  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to relay market feedback, prioritize institutional needs, and shape our roadmap.

Ecosystem & Relationship Management
  • Act as a high-touch Relationship Manager for institutional clients, ensuring long-term retention and expansion of wallet share.

  • Represent the organization at major industry events and conferences across Asia-Pacific and globally.

  • Maintain a pulse on the competitive landscape, specifically regarding data providers, trading infrastructure, and oracle solutions in Asian markets.

Desired Skills and Experience

Professional Experience: 5+ years in Business Development, Institutional Sales, or Trading Desk Coverage within Finance or Fintech.

Institutional Pedigree: Strong background at Tier-1 Banking Institutions (Bulge Bracket Banks, Prime Brokers) with proven success in institutional markets and a demonstrated transition into next-generation financial infrastructure.

Proven Network: Established track record of closing and managing partnerships with Market Makers, Exchanges, Trading Firms, and institutional liquidity providers. Direct experience selling to or managing relationships with institutional trading desks and sophisticated buyers.

Technical Literacy: Ability to discuss API integrations, data latency, infrastructure requirements, and oracle mechanics with confidence. Comfort explaining complex financial and technical concepts to C-suite executives and professional traders.

Market Expertise: Deep knowledge of Asia-Pacific financial markets, regional market dynamics, and institutional buyer behavior. Understanding of how institutional clients evaluate and adopt new market infrastructure solutions.

Nice to Have
  • Direct background in Prime Brokerage, Electronic Trading Sales, or Derivatives/Equities Trading.

  • Experience migrating institutional workflows or data dependencies from legacy systems to new infrastructure.

  • Quantitative Trading background or exposure to high-frequency trading environments.

  • Established relationships with major Asian market makers, broker-dealers, or institutional trading desks.

  • Background in market data sales (Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters) or exchange partnerships - demonstrates institutional credibility and domain knowledge.

  • Mandarin fluency and deep understanding of both Western and Asian market nuances.

Think you've got what it takes to build the most talented team in the world? We'd love to meet you.
