ECS is seeking an Android Mobile App Developer to work in Raleigh, NC.

 

Position Overview:
ECS is seeking a skilled Android Mobile App Developer to join our team to design, develop, and maintain high-quality mobile applications for the Android platform. The candidate analyzes and studies complex system requirements. Designs software tools and subsystems to support software reuse and domain analyses and manages their implementation. Manages software development and support using formal specifications, data flow diagrams, other accepted design techniques and Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools. Estimates software development costs and schedule. Reviews existing programs and assists in making refinements, reducing operating time, and improving current techniques. Supervises software configuration management.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and build advanced applications for Android devices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
  • Work with RESTful APIs and integrate backend services
  • Implement offline data synchronization and cloud storage solutions
  • Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability
  • Work on bug fixing and improving application performance
  • Ensure compatibility with Android 8.0 and above
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with generative AI
  • Experience with cloud technologies such as Azure
  • Proficiency in Java and/or Kotlin programming languages
  • Experience with Android SDK and Android Studio
  • Knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and JSON
  • Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications
  • Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning
  • Understanding of Google's design principles and Material Design guidelines
  • Experience with version control systems (Git)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a related field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Processing, etc.
  • 8+ years of performing software engineering activities
  • 2+ years of Android development experience
  • Published one or more Android apps in Google Play Store
  • Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies
