The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (AJC) is evolving from a legacy newspaper into a modern digital media company, committed to delivering credible, compelling journalism that informs and engages Atlantans and the broader South.
We're looking for an analyst focused on our products and platforms to ensure our digital products are seamlessly tracked, scalable, and continuously improving. This role sits at the intersection of product, data, and experience-focusing not just on what we build, but how users interact with and navigate the platform to ensure it delivers measurable value.
You'll dive into event-level and clickstream data to uncover how users engage with key product features-analyzing friction points, time on task, scroll behavior, and site performance. Your insights will inform roadmap prioritization, interface design, and technical instrumentation. You'll use tools like Tableau, Amplitude, Snowflake/SQL, and dbt to transform complex data into actionable recommendations for product, CX, and engineering teams.

USD 72,200.00 - 108,200.00 per year
Compensation:
Compensation includes a base salary of $72,200.00 - $108,200.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
Benefits:
The Company offers eligible employees the flexibility to take as much vacation with pay as they deem consistent with their duties, the company's needs, and its obligations; seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year; and up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually for their own wellness or that of family members. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
Responsibilities
- Support the definition and validation of user interaction tracking across web and app (navigation, search, content engagement, and technical performance) in Amplitude and related tools
- Assist with QA and debugging of analytics events by validating tracking accuracy, flagging anomalies, and collaborating with engineering to resolve issues
- Monitor platform performance trends and contribute to forecasting efforts that inform capacity planning, feature investment, and product roadmaps
- Build and maintain dashboards in Amplitude and Tableau that surface key platform metrics for the product and platform teams with real-time visibility into KPIs, experiments, and market trends
- Collaborate with product managers and CX to define and track success metrics for features and user engagement
- Use SQL to extract, clean, and analyze data from Snowflake and other platforms as needed
- Contribute to translating platform data into business insights-presenting findings in clear, visual, and compelling ways to help non-technical teams make smart product and experience decisions
WHO YOU ARE
Qualifications
- BA/BS with 2+ years' experience, MS+ with up to 2 years' experience or 6 years equivalent experience
- Minimum of 2+ years professional experience focused in product analytics, growth, digital strategy, or a similar role
- Experience with product analytics tools like Amplitude, Mixpanel, or GA4-comfortable tracking events, defining metrics, debugging, and interpreting the results
- Experience with Tableau or other reporting tools, you can design dashboards that are both visually clear and useful for product and business teams
- Proficient in SQL-you're able to pull and manipulate data independently
- Experience collaborating with product teams to shape roadmaps, inform prioritization, and support experimentation
- Clear communication skills-you can tell stories with data and influence decisions
- A collaborative, curious mindset-you're excited by tough questions and cross-functional work
- Bonus: Experience in news/media, membership models, or high-volume consumer platforms
