Job Description:

Portfolio Management is responsible for the daily oversight and management of Dimensional’s portfolios and implements our investment philosophy across all our investment solutions. Portfolio Management interacts and collaborates closely with several departments including Trading, Research, Technology, Legal, Compliance, Operations, and the Global Client Group to ensure a superior investment experience for our clients.

The Portfolio Management team ensures that Dimensional’s portfolios deliver consistent and efficient exposure to the dimensions of higher expected returns, as identified by the greatest minds in modern financial economics. Our portfolio managers achieve this exposure by implementing a daily and systematic portfolio management process. In addition to overseeing and enhancing this process, portfolio managers also interact with current and prospective clients.

The Equities team monitors portfolios, securities, and markets to consistently and efficiently deliver the equity exposures to achieve higher expected returns for our clients.

As an Analyst, you will support the day-to-day needs of the Portfolio Management team. Analysts are responsible for performing a series of daily tasks to ensure that our management and trading processes run smoothly.

In addition to standard responsibilities, Analysts collaborate with senior team members on ad-hoc requests and projects that provide outstanding learning opportunities and the chance to gain familiarity with processes related to fund management. Once settled into the role, Analysts join the “Analyst Development Program” as well as get a chance to become junior leads of a number of investment processes. The increasing exposure to various tasks and great emphasis on development set out the first stepping-stones en-route to becoming a Portfolio Manager.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support cash management of portfolios with credit lines, currency hedges and cash forecasting

  • Analyze voluntary corporate events and recommend elections to Portfolio Managers

  • Prepare data for Portfolio Manager presentations to clients and internal executives

  • Complete ad hoc requests from Portfolio Managers

  • Propose and execute projects that increase process efficiency and improve portfolio outcomes

  • Collaborate across business functions and teams, both internal and external to the firm

 

Desired Experience and Traits:

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Demonstrated understanding of and alignment with Dimensional’s investment strategy

  • Time-management skills

  • High attention to detail and commitment to excellent work quality

  • Comfort with large data sets

  • Verbal communication and presentation skills

  • Excellent quantitative problem-solving and analytic skills

  • Intellectual curiosity

  • Background or interest in finance and financial theory

  • Aptitude for learning basic computer programming languages and software

  • Knowledge of SQL, VBA, and/or Excel is helpful
