Essential job functions:
- Independently perform the following responsibilities for complex categories/events requiring advanced category understanding, independent decision making, & extensive planning & forethought.
- Build subject matter expertise in assigned vendors and categories
- Apply in-depth analysis of key business levers (i.e. product costs, logistics costs, payment terms, assortment mix, competitive negotiation positioning) to identify opportunities for growth, assortment optimization, and cost savings.
- Negotiate and/or advise on supplier costs, performance metrics, long-range plans and pursue supplier partnership opportunities
- Negotiate business terms, new item cost negotiation, Supply Chain interaction and/or logistical coordination
- Develop data-driven recommendations for optimal receipt quantities at the store level to support sales performance
- Manage key project calendar and deliverables to meet in-warehouse date expectations
- Manage and execute required legal documents adhering to legal requirements and standards (NDA, award letters, master supply agreement and schedules, discontinuance, and termination letters)
- Mentor and train new analysts in the sourcing process
- Perform other duties as assigned to support business needs and uphold company values.
- Primary interfaces will be Category Analysts/Category Managers
- Additional job duties may be assigned as needed to meet the needs of the business and support our Values.
Qualifications:
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis until the end of their appointment
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- 4+ years of related Sourcing, Negotiating, Category, and/or Vendor Management experience
- Enhanced knowledge of industry and suppliers
- Proven ability to negotiate for positive outcomes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; Ability to analyze complex data sets and develop insights
- Strong presentation & communication skills. Ability to build and deliver messaging tailored by audience, and articulate recommended actions to drive decision making
- Able to work under strict deadlines, set and balance priorities
- Able to independently identify problems and propose solutions
- Ability to influence others without authority
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Power BI proficiency (preferred)
