Position Overview

The Analyst will be a member of the Operations team within StepStone’s Fund Accounting department. The person will be responsible for ensuring that transactions are properly recorded in the accounting records and the performance reporting system through managing the daily reconciliation process. The Analyst will work across StepStone’s Fund Accounting and Stepstone Portfolio Analytics and Reporting (SPAR) teams as well as third party administrators (TPAs). This Analyst will focus on the Venture Capital portfolios.  

Essential Job Functions:

  • Daily monitoring of dashboard that compares performance reporting system data to TPAs underlying investment cash flow activity
  • Review variance breaks and work with SPAR and/or TPAs to resolve breaks
  • Record stock sale transactions in StepStone’s performance reporting system
  • Produce quarterly cash flow reconciliation files
  • Produce quarterly net asset value reconciliations
  • Ensure new fund commitments and investments are set up in the performance reporting system and mapped with TPA system identifiers
  • Correspond with General Partners regarding accounting/reporting questions, or other issues, as necessary   
  • Ad hoc projects

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related field
  • Demonstrated track record of academic success
  • Preference for individuals with relevant internships or work experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Acute attention to accuracy and detail
  • Experience with Power BI, Excel, Power Pivot, Power Automate and SharePoint preferred
  • Strong time management, prioritization, and communication skills
  • Strong adaptability to learn new systems and Microsoft tools
  • Proactive and focused with a strong work ethic
  • Willingness to ask questions
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of client, investment and company information

Salary Range: $65,000 - $70,000

The salary range is an estimate of pay for this position.  Actual pay may vary depending on job-related factors that can include location, education, skill, and experience.  The salary range does not include any benefits or other forms of possible compensation that may be available to employees.
