Job Overview:

LPL Financial is seeking an analytical and personable self-starter with a financial background to join its CFO Solutions organization via the Insights & Analytics Team (IAT).

CFO Solutions is a fractional consulting service, which LPL offers to its affiliated financial advisors. This service helps subscribing advisors better understand their financial information and business metrics in order improve their strategic decision-making, revenue growth, and business valuations.

Insights & Analytics Team members develop standard and ad-hoc financial models, monthly reporting, and other insights in support of the advisor-facing CFOs. Analysts must effectively partner with CFOs and provide actionable and easily understandable insights based on financial analysis to effectively create value for subscribing advisors.

Responsibilities:

The analyst role is multifaceted and requires analytical ability and client relationship management skills. Daily and long-term responsibilities include:

  • Analyze advisor business practices to help them better understand strengths and opportunities for their firms as well as metrics on profitability, cash flow, efficiency, and valuation
  • Prepare standard deliverables in Excel and determine significant insights to be relayed to advisors
  • Review standard deliverables prepared by junior analysts, working to develop their skillsets
  • Present analyses to internal team members and subscribing advisors
  • Partner with CFOs and consult with them on opportunities to add value for their paired advisors
  • Utilize Tableau to provide regular and custom reporting to advisors
  • Leverage industry knowledge to deliver tailored insights for advisor’s unique situations
  • Improve existing financial models and build new models when opportunities are identified
  • Assist with CFO and IAT team projects to improve quality for advisors and efficiency for the team

Requirements:
  • 4-5 total years of experience with at least 2 years in a financial analyst role
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or related field (exceptions for other degrees + strong related experience)
  • 2+ years’ professional experience modeling in Microsoft Excel
Core Competencies:
  • Ability to work independently and balance multiple competing priorities at once
  • Analytical, problem-solving mindset with precise attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferences:
  • 4-5 years of experience in a financial analyst role in the financial services industry
  • Experience working with financial advisors directly
  • Prior experience with Tableau, Alteryx, Power BI, or other querying or data visualization tools

Pay Range:

$84,700-$141,100/year
 
Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
