About Motion
Marketing today runs on creative, and the teams doing it best understand that creative is both an art and a science. Rather than shipping ads and hoping they land, they build systems to understand what's driving performance, then turn those insights into repeat successes.

Motion is built to help teams do exactly that. Our platform helps marketing teams understand which of their online ads are performing best and why, so they can ship more winners across Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube.

We found product-market fit as an analytics platform, then dove headfirst into AI over the past couple of years, and that bet is paying off: our valuation has nearly tripled in two years, and we now help some of the world's top ecommerce and DTC brands and agencies, like Vuori, AG1, and HexClad, turn insights into results.

▶️ Learn more about the Motion product AND meet our new AI agent, Runneth 👋

We're an ambitious team with big goals, and we're looking for talented people to help us shape the future of AI-powered marketing! Our founders have built successful companies before, including alongside several of the people now at Motion. A number of teammates chose to build again here — a reflection of the trust, culture, and conviction behind what we’re building.

About the role
If you're passionate about AI and the DTC industry, and you love scrappy zero-to-one work, this one's for you.

We believe the next great marketer isn't a bigger team, it's one sharp person with serious leverage. We built Runneth, the AI operating system for marketing teams, on that bet. Our core use cases are taking shape, and most customers will get a lot out of them right away. But every brand works a little differently. One needs Runneth to understand their own custom naming taxonomy. Another runs their whole business off a single spreadsheet and wants Runneth to judge performance the way they do. Another wants a workflow we haven't built yet.

As our AI Deployment Strategist, you'll be the person who makes Runneth work for those customers. You'll own the relationship with a focused group of top customers, dig into how they actually work, and figure out how to build what they need with Runneth, often by tomorrow, not next quarter. When something you build could help every customer, you'll bring it back to the team so we can scale it.

It's a unique mix of relationship building, scrappy building, and marketing know-how. This isn't an engineering role and you don't need to write production code. You do need to love taking a messy problem, rolling up your sleeves, and owning the solution. Over time the role may shift from working one-on-one with customers to supporting many at once, and we want someone who's excited by that.

What you'll be doing
  • Own the relationship with a focused group of top customers, talking with one or two of them most days to understand their goals, workflows, and what's getting in the way
  • Turn what you hear into custom Runneth use cases, from custom taxonomies and reporting to new data connections and workflows we haven't built yet
  • Prototype fast and scrappy to get customers a working solution, then hand off to Engineering when something needs to be built in the core product built properly
  • Bring what you learn back to the team, flagging which custom builds could become use cases for every customer and feeding customer insight into the Product roadmap
  • Partner closely with Product and Engineering to unblock technical issues, and with our CS team to understand what customers need next
  • Give customers honest, respectful guidance, including telling them when the fix is in their strategy rather than in the product
  • Be one of the first to try every new Runneth feature and figure out how customers can get the most out of it
  • Support our internal marketing team (content, creative strategy, and growth) and influencer partners on their Runneth use cases

Our ideal fit brings
  • Strong relationship skills: You're a people person at heart. You build trust quickly, ask the right questions to find out what people actually need, and like owning the customer relationship from first call to working solution.
  • A builder's mindset: You've always been the person who takes something messy and turns it into a system that works better, whether that was a Notion setup, an automation, or a workflow nobody asked you to fix. You'd rather figure out someone's problem and own the solution than hand them a finished product.
  • Hands-on with AI: You build with AI, you don't just use it. You've built your own workflows, agents, or automations, and you treat AI as a work in progress you can shape rather than something that frustrates you. You don't need to be an engineer, but you're comfortable talking with them.
  • High agency and curiosity: You're an early adopter who wants to try new things the day they ship. You'll talk to anyone to get the job done, engineers one minute and marketers the next.
  • Love for ambiguity: No two days look the same here, and priorities shift fast. You enjoy that, and you care more about the impact you make than the title you hold.
  • Organized: You can juggle several customers and builds at once without dropping anything.

Bonus points
  • Experience in DTC, ecommerce, paid social, or creative strategy, enough to spot when a customer's strategy is the real problem. We have internal experts who can teach you the rest.
  • A background on the agency side, in customer success or implementation with real technical depth, or in managing influencer and creator relationships
  • You've founded something or built your own product and loved talking to the people using it

What you'll love about Motion 💜
  • Compensation: Competitive compensation including equity for all employees, health benefits from day one, a monthly health & lifestyle stipend, 20 days PTO, and a $1,500 work-from-home stipend
  • Remote-first, hybrid optional: Team members across Canada, the U.S., and beyond, with office hubs in Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, and Porto
  • Real momentum: 2.5x YoY growth, $65M+ total raised ($30M Series B), and second-time founders. Several teammates chose to build with them again.
  • Low-ego, high-performing team: Ranked #19 on G2's Best Canadian Software Companies for 2026
  • Connection: Day-to-day on Roam, an AI-powered virtual office. In person, an annual team offsite and a summer company retreat.

We closed out 2024 with a $30M Series B raise and strong signals from our customers. In 2025, we built the foundational capabilities our customers rely on, setting the stage for what's to come. In 2026, with fresh funding ($65M+ total capital raised), we’re building forward from that foundation, taking what we learned to market in a deeply AI-native way.

🌎 Note: For this role, we're hiring in Canada and the United States.

We use artificial intelligence (AI) in certain parts of our recruiting process at Motion, ranging from administrative and efficiency-focused support to, in some cases, conducting introductory interviews. Every AI interview is reviewed, and every hiring decision is made, by a (human) member of our team.
