Lead the development of AI agents in education, defining success metrics, collaborating across teams, and ensuring ethical AI practices.
At Instructure, we believe in the power of people to grow and succeed throughout their lives. Our goal is to amplify that power by creating intuitive products that simplify learning and personal development, facilitate meaningful relationships, and inspire people to go further in their education and careers. We do this by giving smart, creative, passionate people opportunities to create something amazing. And that's where you come in.
We’re looking for an experienced Product Manager to lead the development of Instructure’s Education AI Agent—a key initiative that powers intelligent, trusted, and scalable support for educators within our LMS ecosystem. You will play a pivotal role in defining what quality and effectiveness mean for AI agents in education, working cross-functionally to deliver agentic workflows that support real classroom needs. This role is ideal for someone with strong LLM-based chatbot experience, a growth mindset, and a passion for using AI to drive meaningful impact in teaching and learning.
What you will be doing:
- Own the vision, roadmap, and delivery of Instructure’s Education Agent, ensuring it meets high standards of reliability, accuracy, and usefulness for educators
- Define success metrics and quality frameworks for AI agent performance
- Monitor and evaluate agent effectiveness at scale using lightweight dashboards and AI workflows that provide internal visibility into usage, outcomes, and areas for improvement
- Collaborate cross-functionally with AI engineers, QA, design, and other PMs to launch and continuously improve agent capabilities
- Support internal readiness and rollout efforts—including Early Access Programs (EAPs)—by tracking usage, synthesizing feedback, and identifying readiness signals
- Ensure ethical, auditable, and safe AI design by establishing monitoring practices that surface risks and biases as the agent scales
- Pilot internal workflows and feedback loops to accelerate experimentation and reduce the time to validate AI workflows in the agent
What you will need to know/have:
- 2+ years of product management experience with LLM-based chatbots or AI agents, preferably in domains with high user trust requirements (e.g., education, healthcare, hospitality)
- A track record of defining measurable success criteria for AI-powered features and applying evaluation methods to improve AI quality and user experience
- A growth mindset and systems-thinking approach to driving automation, experimentation, and process innovation to user workflows and internal product development processes
- Strong collaboration skills—capable of driving alignment with both internal and external stakeholders through scaling documentation across functions
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and bring structure to complex, fast-evolving product spaces. Enjoy turning vision into structure, metrics, and delivery milestones
What you will love about this role
- You’ll help shape how millions of educators and learners experience AI—by delivering an agent that feels contextual, trustworthy, and genuinely helpful
- You’ll work on one of Instructure’s most strategic AI initiatives—at the intersection of innovation, responsibility, and scale
- You’ll be part of a mission-driven company where your work directly supports better learning experiences and educational outcomes
Get in on all the awesome:
- We offer competitive, meaningful benefits in every country where we operate. While they vary by location, here's a general idea of what you can expect:
- Competitive compensation and participation in Instructure’s equity program
- Flexible schedules and a remote-friendly culture, with hybrid or onsite work based on business needs
- Generous paid time off, including global holidays and our annual “Dim the Lights” company-wide shutdown from December 26 to December 31
- Comprehensive wellness programs and mental health support
- Annual learning and development stipends to support your growth
- We provide the technology and tools you need to do your best work—typically a Mac, with PC options available in some locations
- A culture rooted in inclusivity, support, and meaningful connection
We’ve always believed in hiring the most awesome people and treating them right. We know that the more diverse we are, the more diverse our ideas will be — and when we openly welcome those ideas, our environment is better and our business is stronger. All Instructure employees are required to successfully pass a background check upon being hired.
