AI Product Engineer

Vertex is seeking an exceptional AI Product Engineer to support in the development of cutting-edge AI solutions for both external customers and internal workflows.

The AI Product Engineer will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and implementing production-ready AI products utilizing machine learning and generative AI technologies. This role requires a unique blend of technical expertise, domain knowledge, and entrepreneurial spirit.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deploy AI-driven products from concept to production

• Create proof-of-concept systems and scalable prototypes

• Manage cross-functional teams to bring AI solutions to life

• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify pain points and design effective solutions

• Stay abreast of the latest ML/GenAI advancements and apply novel techniques

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience in end-to-end product development and deployment

• Strong background in machine learning and generative AI

• Proficiency in full-stack development (backend, frontend, and UI/UX design)

• Ability to understand and implement techniques from ML/GenAI research papers

• Experience in solo product shipping and development

• Excellent communication skills for stakeholder management

• Exceptional ability to lead discussions to understand workflows and business logic of operational processes and tools

• Please include a portfolio showcasing your work in AI. Examples may include completed projects, research papers, links to GitHub repositories, or case studies demonstrating your experience with AI technologies such as machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, or generative AI

Preferred Qualifications:

• Consulting experience in relevant domains

• Background as a technical founder or strong entrepreneurial aspirations

• Familiarity with tax software and related workflows

• Portfolio or work samples are highly preferred
