About Liatrio
Liatrio is a collaborative, delivery transformation consulting firm dedicated to accelerating software delivery and innovating processes. We expedite world-class delivery for enterprises, building cloud-native applications and advanced DevOps platforms while coaching engineering and business teams every step of the way. Our clients span a variety of industries — from financial institutions to healthcare providers — all seeking to revolutionize how they build and deliver software. Get ready to drive holistic change across people, processes, culture, and technology as we modernize the world of software, harnessing the best of AI to build a new way of working and help our customers do the same!
Who You Are
If you’re excited to be on the cutting edge of AI-powered software modernization, eager to help us build a new way of working, and passionate about helping our customers do the same, we want you on our team!
At Liatrio, we live and breathe these traits (with a new emphasis on leveraging AI for transformative outcomes). People on our team tend to share the following qualities:
• Willingness and hunger to learn — especially about cutting-edge AI and how it can reshape software delivery.
• Devotion to open communication and transparency — in code, strategy, and AI-assisted innovation.
• Value collaboration and willingness to share responsibilities — across internal and client work.
• Effectively communicate in difficult conversations — including how to navigate AI adoption challenges.
• Desire to solve complex problems — interpersonal, technical, business, and now AI-powered.
• Ability to acknowledge shortcomings and provide solutions — recognizing opportunities where AI can help.
• Empathy towards others — meeting people where they are in their AI journey.
• Appreciate mentoring and helping others grow — both in traditional engineering practices and AI-driven modernization.
• Navigate ambiguity and frequent change — especially as AI evolves rapidly.
What You Do
We’re looking for hands-on, technical leaders who are passionate about application development, excited by the possibilities of AI to modernize legacy software, and who want to help organizations and engineering teams improve the quality and speed of delivery. You’re someone who sees AI not as a future concept but as a present tool that can energize and modernize software for real impact.
You will bring a breadth of experience in these areas (and more!), with a focus on how AI-first principles can accelerate outcomes:
Client Delivery
• Provide technical delivery leadership within a project or workstream under the guidance of an account leader or architect.
• Accountable for technical excellence for the assigned project or workstream, including identifying where AI can deliver quicker, more robust solutions.
• Uplift engineers—both clients' and Liatrio teammates—helping them adopt AI-assisted workflows.
• Architect a technical solution leveraging AI where appropriate, articulate this solution to clients, and lead a small team of engineers in its implementation.
• Serve as a technical point of contact, offering architectural guidance and Liatrio’s point of view on AI adoption.
• Ensure account leader or architect alignment, escalating concerns or changes quickly, and seeking feedback on AI-focused strategies and approaches.
• Adapt quickly to change—including rapidly evolving AI tools and capabilities—to meet customer needs.
Team Leadership
• Organize work for team members, regularly breaking down tasks and pairing with other engineers—especially when introducing new AI tools or practices.
• Mentor junior team members, including 1:1 meetings, providing feedback, and guiding both technical and AI-related growth.
• Provide feedback to account leaders or architects on overall team performance and areas for growth—highlighting opportunities to improve AI adoption.
Internal Liatrio Growth
• Seek and provide fast feedback—personally and for others—helping drive quick iteration in both DevOps and AI experiments.
• Generate ideas and be willing to fail fast—especially by leveraging proofs-of-concept that use AI to push boundaries.
• Drive knowledge sharing in and out of client engagements—evangelizing AI-first approaches, best practices, and lessons learned.
• Participate in business development, showing clients how AI can fundamentally transform their software development lifecycle.
Tools and Technologies
As a hands-on leader, we expect you’ll have significant experience with many of the tools and technologies we frequently use with our clients. While it’s impossible to be an expert in all areas, for this Lead Engineer position, we expect you to:
• Use AI-First and modern development tooling like Cursor, Windsurf, or Cline and other agentic, AI-accelerated IDEs. We need you to focus on changing the way we build software and be committed to making this a reality for others. Are you ready to make this a full time commitment?
• Own full-stack development of new AI-enabled applications, as well as modernization of existing legacy applications using AI to expedite refactoring or migration.
• Be fluent in multiple programming languages, including FP and OOP, as well as different database technologies.
• Have extensive experience creating frontend web applications, backend API services, cloud-hosted applications, and full-stack standalone solutions—now with an eye toward AI enhancements.
• Possess expertise navigating enterprise environments, distributed systems, and large/multi-cloud environments.
• Be comfortable with end-to-end software delivery, able to review code, and empathize with developers and engineers across the SDLC—especially as AI-driven processes reshape roles.
• Have deep knowledge of cloud-native architecture, source control management systems, branching strategies, and automation.
• Bring first-hand experience building or working closely with Operations teams responsible for containerization, infrastructure as code, platform engineering, data center architecture, systems architecture, observability, and DevOps practices—ideally integrating AI-driven optimizations where possible.
• Advocate for patterns, practices, and best practices like Agile, TDD, BDD, and DDD, while exploring how AI can support or enhance these methodologies.
