An Agency Account Manager’s role is to nurture existing and foster new relationships with public and investor relations firms to maintain and grow revenue. This position will connect with key stakeholders to retain business, introduce new distribution options, and build trust. Success in the role will include engagement and networking within the communications industry to become a brand ambassador and trusted resource.
What You Will Do
- Act as a consultative partner to understand client needs and challenges, advise on their communication plans, and effectively communicate Business Wire’s value proposition.
- Develop thorough knowledge of the agency landscape, public/investor relations industry, our products and services, as well as those of our competitors.
- Successfully execute client contracts from negotiation to close, in adherence to policies and procedures.
- Work collaboratively in a team environment and across internal teams to achieve individual and shared results.
- Connect and increase social media visibility with clients by sharing thought leadership, case studies, and socializing industry and Business Wire hosted events.
- Build relationships, identify agency contacts, and interact via LinkedIn, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, X and other social networking platforms.
- Maintain accurate records of all client activity within Salesforce.
- Meet or exceed revenue goals, KPIs and performance objectives.
What You Will Need
- Experience in client account relationship management with revenue generation responsibility.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop trusted client relationships and drive effective conversations with key decision makers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including presentation skills.
- Exceptional time management with the ability to manage multiple tasks with strict attention to detail.
- Proven success in meeting and exceeding sales goals by managing all stages of the sales cycle including needs analysis, presentation, proposal, negotiation and closing.
- Must possess a high standard of professionalism, integrity and collaboration.
- Strong Social Media utilization to connect with clients and relevant audiences.
- BA/BS degree, or international equivalent, preferred.
- Experienced professional with four to six years related industry experience preferred.
- Proficiency with Salesforce, HubSpot, Front, Seismic and Tableau a plus.
What We Offer
- The base salary range for this position is $80K to $95K. Offered salary will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to: applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with geographic market data. Business Wire reserves the right to modify this salary range at any time.
