This position is responsible for delivering Electronic Health Record (EHR) and integrated technology training to a diverse group of users as part of the Optum Health Informatics division supporting client Market Performance Partnerships (MPPs). Training services include initial new hire onboarding, upgrade/project-specific, mastery and adoption to promote effective and efficient technology use, improve clinical workflows, and enhance user satisfaction. The EHR Trainer collaborates directly with the EHR Instructional designer to follow established training program guidelines, identify required changes/improvements, and support maintenance of training artifacts.
This position is full time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am - 4:30 pm EST.
This will be on the job training and the hours during training will be 8:00 am - 4:30 pm EST, Monday - Friday.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct classroom, virtual, and one-on-one training sessions for EHR users following established curricula and proficiency assessment guidelines.
- Maintain core knowledge of key practices and workflows (business or clinical).
- Administers and grades end user proficiency examinations and tracks training program completion and other outcome metrics.
- Utilizes training technologies such as Learning Management System to track training data to support enrollment processes, proficiency assessments, and course completions.
- Adapts training based on learner preferences, generational priorities, and learning barriers to individualize learning, as able.
- Maintains active credentialed status to demonstrate expertise in training delivery, ensuring alignment with program standards and requirements for assigned EHR applications, as applicable.
- Develop and deliver engaging training sessions (in-person and virtual) for clinical and operational users on technology functionality, workflow efficiencies, and best practices.
- Deliver advanced EHR training (Mastery sessions) tailored to clinical specialties and/or roles following standard structure.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to assess training needs and identify content to meet ongoing training needs for targeted audiences (e.g., physicians, nurses, front desk staff) driving operational excellence and adoption of best practice workflows.
- Provide at-the-elbow/virtual support during go-live and post-implementation phases.
- Monitor user adoption and proficiency and identify areas for improvement or retraining.
- Identify workflow improvement opportunities and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align EHR usage with best practices.
- Serve as a liaison between end-users and technical teams to report issues, gather feedback, and suggest system enhancements.
- Stay current with EHR updates, regulatory requirements, and industry trends to ensure training remains relevant and compliant.
- Assist in change management efforts to promote user engagement and minimize resistance
- Assists with testing, upgrades, and optimization priorities.
- Demonstrates flexibility to work varied hours to meet operational business needs, as required based on scope of role.
- Collaborates with peers and operational staff and leaders across the system to identify training needs, recommend continuous education and mastery training programs, optimize resources and share expertise.
- Collaborate and assists Instructional Designers by providing feedback on training materials, assisting in training content review and development, and validating training materials and training environment domains.
- Develop and maintain training and communication materials in support of overarching training programs, as applicable.
Manage training ticket queues and respond to training-related requests.

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Must be 18 years of age OR older
- Familiarity with healthcare technologies and adult education learning principles and training delivery preferred
- Understanding of electronic health records (EHRs) and related workflows preferred
- Communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications, including Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to travel up to 10% to local healthcare facilities
- Flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am - 4:30 pm EST.
