Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain actuarial pricing models using statistical and analytical techniques

  • Analyse internal and external data to identify trends and assess risk factors influencing pricing decisions

  • Partner with underwriting teams to deliver pricing support, including individual case pricing aligned with bestpractice actuarial methods

  • Maintain policies, technical procedures, and methodology documents for actuarial models

  • Support development of pricing models within the hx Renew pricing system, including wireframe Excel builds and maintenance of live models 

  • Support portfolio performance monitoring, rate adequacy analysis, and pricing insights for senior management

  • Conduct ongoing testing and validation of model changes, ensuring appropriateness of techniques and parameters

  • Collaborate with data engineering and technology teams to enhance data quality, model inputs, and pricing workflows

  • Present pricing analyses and recommendations to underwriting and management teams in a clear and actionable manner

  • Provide actuarial support to other functions such as reserving, business planning, risk, and capital modelling

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, actuarial science, or another relevant numerate subject

  • Successful completion of at least two actuarial exams and relevant actuarial experience

  • Minimum two years’ experience in the (re)insurance industry; pricing experience preferred

  • Experience in model development and validation

  • Strong technical skills, proficiency with Excel, VBA and PowerBI

  • Experience with pricing platforms or rating engines (e.g., hx Renew) is an advantage

  • Coding experience—especially Python—is an asset

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple modelling and pricing projects simultaneously

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams, departments, and jurisdictions

  • A proactive mindset with a drive to improve processes, innovate, and support business growth in a fastpaced environment
