The Actuarial Analyst 2, provides actuarial support across a broad range of actuarial and business needs for specific product lines. The Actuarial Analyst 2, work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.

The Actuarial Analyst 2 will join a team that leverages predictive modeling and analytics to support Humana’s HQRI (Healthcare Quality & Reporting Improvement) department.  The team focuses on risk adjustment modeling for our Medicare and Medicaid business.  The HQRI department is a high-performing organization with a key role within Humana.  HQRI relies on this team to provide guidance in operational decisions and financial projections that are grounded in data science and analytics.

The actuarial analyst 2 in this role will empower risk adjustment decision makers using a mix of actuarial and data science tools such as predictive modeling, forecasting, and statistical analysis.  They will provide actionable, accurate, and reliable solutions to HQRI’s business needs.  They will put customer first, delivering timely and clearly communicated results.

  • Utilize mathematics, statistics, and programming to generate predictions that drive risk adjustment operations and strategy
  • Partner with peers and supervisors to establish an overall collaborative working relationship
  • Deliver complex information in the manner most useful to the customer, utilizing tables, charts, graphs, filters, etc. to make clear the most important aspects of the information presented
  • Seek always to understand customers’ needs and work in partnership with customers to develop solutions that satisfy those needs

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Successful completion of at least 3 actuarial exams
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
  • Strong communication skills
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with one of the following: SQL, SAS, R or Python
  • Experience with predictive modeling

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$80,900 - $110,300 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
