What We Need: 

We are seeking an Accounting Manager specializing in revenue and sales tax to join our team at Synapse Health. This role reports directly to the Controller and is responsible for overseeing accounting operations with a strong emphasis on revenue recognition and sales tax compliance. The ideal candidate will ensure accuracy, regulatory compliance, and efficiency across financial processes while leading and developing the accounting team.

What You Will Do: 

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of revenue accounting, accounts receivable, cash management, and tax compliance functions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606 and collaborate with RCM teams to support billing and collections.
  • Monitor and reconcile AR aging, cash activity, and revenue accounts; prepare related reports and analyses.
  • Maintain compliance with sales & use tax, franchise tax, and business license requirements across all relevant jurisdictions.
  • Oversee cash and treasury operations, including daily cash tracking, banking relationships, and treasury controls.
  • Partner with the GL Accounting Manager to ensure alignment during close and audit cycles.
  • Support external audits by preparing revenue and tax schedules, documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Implement and improve accounting processes, systems, and internal controls related to revenue, AR, and tax.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures to ensure accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, legal, commercial, and RCM teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and risk mitigation.

What You Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5–7 years of experience in accounting, with a strong background in revenue accounting and sales tax compliance.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and ability to learn department- and job-specific software systems.
  • Experience in reporting, month-end close, bank reconciliation, and state & federal filings.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.

  • Experience in healthcare accounting.
  • Deep understanding of multi-state sales tax regulations and revenue recognition standards.
