Our team is growing! We are looking for a Distribution Accounting Manager who will oversee the financial operations of the distribution legal entities including the broker-dealer and RIA, ensuring compliance with SEC, FINRA, and other regulatory requirements. This role is responsible for managing the general ledger, preparing financial statements, coordinating audits and ensuring timely and accurate regulatory filings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial services accounting, particularly within broker-dealer and investment advisory environments.

Job Responsibility
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP and regulatory standards.
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of regulatory reports.
- Creatively and critically thinks about processes, systems and services to continuously improve the quality of information used in decision making
- Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory examiners.
- Coordinate with internal partners to manage the audit and examiner requests. Provide audit and examiner requests in a timely manner.
- Develops, updates, implements and maintains the integrity of written policies and procedures over the financial accounting process
- Maintains and strengthens internal controls over accounting operations under the company’s framework of controls
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, providing insights to senior management.
- Manage cash flow, capital requirements and net capital computations.
- Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.
- Collaborate with operations, compliance, IM&T and legal teams to support business activities.
- Works collaboratively and leads project teams
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Complies with all company and site policies and procedures
- Remains current in profession and industry trends
- Successfully completes regulatory and job training requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Substantial understanding of STAT/GAAP accounting and reporting for life insurance companies
- Ability to research technical accounting matters and author memos appropriately evaluating the impact of the STAT/GAAP guidance on the Company
- Strong knowledge of SEC and FINRA regulations and required regulatory filings.
- Proactive approach to solving data problems and data issues
- Ability to produce and maintain good documentation
- Ability to work closely with the external or other auditors with confidence and clarity
- Ability to understand problems and influence outcomes.
- Proven ability to build collaborative decisions across teams.
- Embraces and adapts to a continuously evolving technology environment
- Ability to make a positive contribution as demonstrated by identifying and implementing process/procedure improvement leveraging technology
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook

Education And Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in (Accounting/Finance) Required
- Master's Degree MA/MBA Preferred
- CPA OR 5 years of broker-dealer accounting experience required
- 6+ years of relevant experience
- Previous experience in broker-dealer or RIA environment preferred
- Public accounting experience preferred
- Experience in cloud- based GL solutions preferred
- Experience with Blackline, Workiva and Domo preferred
Base Salary Range: $125,000 - $135,000
