What we're looking for:

Beam’s Accounting Team empowers the company by developing and implementing scalable accounting processes that facilitate timely and accurate financial reporting. As an Accounting Manager, you will play a key role in leading and improving accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy, and driving automation and efficiency in our processes. What you will do:

  • Lead and oversee accounting operations, ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal controls
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements, implementing solutions to enhance efficiency
  • Work cross-functionally with teams across the company to ensure financial processes align with business objectives
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to accounting team members, fostering a culture of learning and growth
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with auditors and other third-part vendors
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures to support the company’s growth and scalability
  • Assist in financial statement preparation and ensure accurate reporting to stakeholders
  • Partner with HR to support payroll processing and reconciliations, with knowledge of payroll tax implications being a valuable asset
  • Demonstrate expertise in accounts payable and treasury functions to support cash flow management and vendor relationships

What skills will help you be successful:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; exposure to insurance accounting and reporting is a plus
  • At least 5 years of experience in accounting operations or public accounting, with prior experience in a managerial role preferred
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principlesFamiliarity with financial reporting systems (e.g., Salesforce, Tableau, or SQL) is a plus
  • Proven ability to analyze complex financial data and translate findings into actionable insightsExperience with process automation and ERP systems; proficiency in NetSuite is a plus
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with data visualization tools
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to tell a clear and compelling financial story
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to challenge existing processes and drive continuous improvementIntegrity, empathy, and a commitment to collaboration

The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and budget for the open position and also may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other relevant factors. This range does not include an estimated value for any benefits, bonus, or other incentives that may be applicable based on position.
