JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsibilities:

  • Performs general accounting activities, including the preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements such as balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements and Cash flow statements.
  • Prepares, records, analyzes and reports accounting transactions and ensures the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles.
  • Provides financial support via preparation and presentation of monthly variance analysis for Income Statement & Balance Sheet
  • Participates in financial statement reviews with FP&A and Operations
  • Oversees the work of at least four (4) professional (exempt) individual contributors in the tactical execution of a department or sub-department goals.
  • Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals.
  • Provides guidance to subordinates within the latitude of established company policies.
  • Recommends changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect immediate organization(s).
  • Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends.
  • Follows processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Acts as advisor to subordinates to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems.
  • Develops and administers schedules, performance requirements; may have budget responsibilities.
  • Establishes annual goals and manages people, work and outcomes to meet those goals, usually measuring progress and making course corrections on a monthly to quarterly basis; determines and allocates resources.
  • Manage or perform day-to-day accounting, month-end close process and year-end financial reporting.
  • Manage or perform the process and execution of daily accounting transactions.
  • Manage and assist with the month-end close processes, including the approval and posting of journal entries, approvals of monthly reconciliations and financial report preparation, ensuring that proper back up documentation is maintained and internal control procedures are properly administered. 
  • Evaluates accounting systems and procedures and makes recommendations to improve efficiency.
  • Works with internal and external audit partners to provide support for quarterly/year end audits
  • Assist in developing internal audit practices, as well as internal controls for public company readiness
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of the external audit process, including oversight of the fieldwork process.
  • Leads or performs ad hoc projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • BS Degree with emphasis in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA preferred
  • 5+ years accounting or audit experience
  • 2-5 years managerial experience required
  • Accounting experience overseeing transactional accounting, general ledger, and monthly close process
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and accounting standards required
  • Advanced Excel skills, such as V lookup, Pivot tables, etc. required
  • Experience obtaining and analyzing data from ERP and database management systems
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
