The Fullsteam Accounting team is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the Accounting Manager, Payments and Platform Services Revenue role. The ideal candidate will have experience in payments revenue and the ability to thrive in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.  This role is responsible for ensuring the billing and revenue recognition is accurate for our Fullsteam Payments process in both the US and Canada.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a deep understanding of the end-to-end payment transaction lifecycle, including system architecture, execution, reconciliation, and error handling.​

  • Oversee the accounting for the end-to-end lifecycle of money movements, including payment origination, reconciliation, and reporting.​

  • Manage the payments point-of-sale (POS) terminal revenue process and support operations in the billing and inventory accounting for the POS terminals.

  • Reconcile all money movements to confirm activity happened as expected.

  • Identify, triage, and assist with solutioning payment related incidents with cross functional and external partners. 

  • Act as an additional safeguard to detect and prevent payment errors and losses.​

  • Work closely with backend systems to ensure accurate and timely payment processing and reporting.​

  • Develop and maintain documentation for payment processes and procedures.​

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including risk, underwriting, sales, operations and backend systems, to ensure efficient and accurate payment operations.

  • Support the Operational Leadership and executive team on key financial decisions.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team.

  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that encourages continuous improvement and professional growth.

  • Set performance goals and regularly evaluate the team’s progress, providing feedback and guidance to ensure high standards are met.

  • Manage the billing and revenue recognition process for Platform Services including insurance, marketing, and platform services.

  • Accounting and reconciliation for the Merchant Capital Advance.

  • Assist external auditors during interim and annual audits by providing documentation, explanations, and support related to revenue recognition practices and financial reporting.

  • Assist with audit compliance documentation as necessary.

  • Collaborate cross- functionally with other departments and business units to facilitate relationships, resolve variances and drive process improvement initiatives.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Proficiency in Payment Processing Revenue accounting required.

  • Strong technical background, including specific knowledge of current accounting rules.

  • Execution-orientation with a strong adherence to deadlines.

  • Ability to analyze complex situations, identify problems, and develop effective solutions.

  • Skilled in developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accommodate work responsibilities and meet business deadlines.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate and collaborate with leadership, cross functional teams, and external sources.

  • Capacity to think ahead, set clear goals, and develop long-term plans to achieve organizational objectives.

  • Capable of bringing together diverse individuals, fostering a positive team environment, and promoting collaboration and teamwork.

  • Dedicated to the growth and development of team members, providing constructive feedback, mentoring, and opportunities for learning and advancement.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification is a plus.

  • 8+ years of proven experience in accounting related to payment processing revenue.

  • 5+ years management experience with a track record of hiring, developing, and leading high caliber teams.

  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; NetSuite, FloQast experience is a plus.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

Remote with the need to attend meetings periodically as needed in our Atlanta or Auburn Corporate offices. Advance notice will be given for any travel required.
