The accounting team provides in-depth guidance to the rest of the organization on financial results, delivering essential insights that influence key decisions—from daily operations to long-term strategies. The team is responsible for solving complex financial questions in an evolving environment with new regulations, technologies and financial challenges. Their efforts help Paxos drive innovation, expand market reach and ultimately achieve Paxos’ mission of building a more open and inclusive financial system.

About the role

As a  Manager on the Accounting team, you’ll lead the month-end, quarterly and financial closing process. You’ll have the opportunity to dive into new accounting standards and drive their implementation. You’ll be responsible for financial reporting, working with the auditors, and managing Paxos’ day-to-day accounting activities, such as overseeing the general ledger, cash management and intercompany functions. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, including strategic finance, treasury and operations to provide valuable insight. This role is critical to Paxos’  success, ensuring that all reporting timelines are met and financial information is accurate, enabling informed decisions that drive growth and profitability.

What you’ll do 

  • Oversee the monthly, quarterly and financial closing process
  • Coach and mentor direct reports on the accounting team
  • Supervise daily accounting operations
  • Own the relationship with external auditors
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and international statutory reporting requirements
  • Oversee the quality and completion of reconciliations, work papers and supporting schedules 
  • Participate in and guide the the development, implementation and maintenance of accounting policies and internal controls
  • Assist in designing new processes and enhance existing ones; implement scalable processes to support the Paxos’ growth, and drive continuous improvement
  • Enable Paxos to meet internal and external reporting requirements

About you 

  • A minimum of 5 years of combined experience in public accounting (audit) and private/in-house accounting 
  • Experience in start-ups and/or financial services 
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA license and strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Experience overseeing and managing accounting staff
  • Proficiency with NetSuite ERP or other cloud-based accounting software
  • Strong drive to continuously improve the accounting operations, controls and financial reporting processes, including leveraging systems and technologies to improve workflows and scalability
  • Excellent organizational, time management, communication and interpersonal skills

Paxos offers a competitive total compensation and benefits package, including equity and bonuses based on both your individual performance and company performance. Eligibility for bonuses is dependent on job level, and actual salary within the range depends on your skills, experience, and qualifications.

Expected range for the base salary component for candidates located within the United States is:

$129,773$175,575 USD
