JOB SUMMARY

This position, in the Natural Gas Pipeline Louisiana segment, is responsible for leading on pipeline enhancement projects and new build projects as it relates to business development. This position provides the opportunity to interact with senior management, lead negotiations with external customers and strategically influence revenue decisions the company makes. This individual will need good interpersonal, analytical, oral, and written communication, and time management skills. There will be a particular focus on coachability, teamwork and customer-service centric skills. This position will manage and grow relationships internally and externally to execute strategies within the Natural Gas Pipeline (NGP) business segment.
A successful candidate will be self-motivated and cross-collaborative with various internal groups such as legal, contracts administration, scheduling, gas control, operations, and commercial. Additionally, the ability to provide excellent internal and external customer service and focus; collaborate with other teams to develop and implement process improvements to provide the best service; ability to handle multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines; strong critical thinking skills and the ability to adapt to a changing and growing environment will be key. Lastly, a strong attention to detail would be and willing to be an SME (subject-matter-expert) of ONEOK’s Louisiana assets.
Additional responsibilities include:
1. Develop and implement business development strategy
2. Originate and manage the development of projects that will enhance the profitability of ONEOK’s Louisiana group, which may include major capital expansions, acquisitions and project development
3. Identify prospects, lead negotiations, and prepare agreements with potential customers and/or counterparties
4. Coordinate multi-discipline, cross- functional teams comprised of internal departments (including but not limited to Facilities Design, Engineering, Environmental, Land, Legal, Accounting, Marketing and Regulatory) to produce scopes of work, identify projects’ risks, and produce cost estimates
5. Evaluate economics for projects, prepare management presentations, and present investment opportunities for approvals
6. Conduct and participate with others in the negotiations of business transactions, and draft definitive agreements for approved projects
7. Develop and maintain relationships with new and/or existing customers and other key industry representatives
8. Perform market and competitor analysis
This role is hybrid:
Office - Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday
Remote - Thursday and Friday

Job Profile Summary
Responsible for assisting in the development and evaluation of market opportunities, involving transportation, storage, equity or operational sales, contract negotiations, monitor and manage related agreements for key accounts and coordinate implementation of associated projects as applicable to the position.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Research existing contracts to identify potential profitability and liabilities

  • Identify gas supply and/or marketing opportunities and to support strategic business plans

  • Help in the preparation for complex negotiations with potential customers or service providers, such as production companies, LDC’s and power generation companies, other natural gas gathering and processing companies and companies specializing in the marketing of natural gas, for new short-term and long-term transactions

  • Develop new relationships with potential small to mid-scale accounts and maintain effective customer relations with existing accounts

  • Participate in development of small to mid-scale projects to support business strategies

  • Prepare economic models, perform calculations, and conduct analyses to for review to assist in the evaluation of new or potential customers, interconnections, well connects, equity gas sales, and optimization of expansion and organic growth projects as applicable to the position

  • Research information for evaluation to determine its applicability to our business operations and utilize this information to help formulate our overall strategic business plans

  • Interact and participate with engineering, construction, operations, contract administrators, commercial, scheduling, land, regulatory, legal and others regarding supply and/or market opportunities

  • Develop, interpret, and/or prepare information and correspondence including but not limited to:

    • Policies & Procedures

    • Contracts & Agreements

    • Internal & External Correspondence

    • Request for Proposals

    • Tariffs

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent formal education to include a combination of courses such as finance, accounting, engineering, business management, or job related experience

Work Experience

  • Experience with and thorough knowledge of activities related to gas supply, gas purchase, gathering systems, gas transportation, gas storage, gas accounting, and/or gas sales, including equity gas sales and purchases, as applicable to the position

  • Experience in use and function of office equipment including microcomputers and applicable software

  • Experience and/or knowledge including but not limited to:

    • Contract Negotiation

    • Contract Analysis

    • Economic Analysis

    • Research Skills

    • Communication Skills

  • Experience analyzing data with a strong business acumen

  • Experience researching, analyzing, and resolving issues and/or questions concerning contracts, agreements, regulations, policies, and procedures

  • Experience developing and preparing contracts, agreements, reports, presentations, policies, procedures, and correspondence applicable to position

  • Experience reading and interpreting reports, correspondence, industry publications, contracts, and computer manuals and printouts

  • Experience interacting, advising, negotiating, and communicating effectively
