Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced 3rd Shift Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator to join our team at our manufacturing facility in Garland, TX. The EHS Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and implementing safety measures to protect employees and visitors. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and strong leadership abilities.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
2. Develop and implement effective solutions to address identified issues, such as improving ventilation systems or installing safety equipment.
3. Monitor employee exposure levels to determine if they exceed acceptable limits.
4. Investigate accidents and injuries to determine their causes and develop preventive measures.
5. Collaborate with management to implement corrective actions based on findings.
6. Train employees on safe work practices and emergency procedures.
7. Maintain accurate records related to environmental health and safety matters.
8. Participate in cross-functional teams focused on improving safety culture within the organization.
9. Stay informed about changes in relevant laws and regulations and communicate updates to affected personnel.
10. Provide guidance to supervisors regarding ergonomics, chemical handling, and other aspects of occupational health and safety.
11. Additional duties as needed.
Qualifications:
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of management.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry best practices.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Fluency in English language essential; Spanish language proficiency desirable but not required.
