Job Overview:

Our Business Development & Sales teams are seeking Summer 2026 interns. These positions would like the ideal candidates to be local to the San Diego, Boston, Austin, or Carolina’s office, functioning off a hybrid schedule at the intern and managers discretion. (2-3 days in the office) 

Business Development at LPL Financial is the initial point of contact between LPL & the Financial Advisors. BD interns help build the bridge with advisors seeking greater control over their professional and personal life & our recruitment team. The intern is responsible for driving lead flow into our recruitment teams in order to increase sales. Responsibilities:

  • Obtain exposure to systems, databases, and other applications used by the company on a daily basis. 

  • Participate in process walkthroughs in accordance with department and professional standards. 

  • Work in a fast-paced environment with opportunities to interact not only with the team’s management but also with other business units’ management. 

  • Practice project management through handling various assignments and projects. 

  • Expand knowledge through training and other online courses. 

  • Get to know us as an employer and experience our working culture up close through our summer programming events.

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in an Undergraduate degree program with an expected graduation date of December 2027 or May 2027

  • Interest in the Sales/ Business Development industry

  • Offer is contingent upon successful background screening and agreement to be local to the Fort Mill/Charlotte, Austin, Boston and San Diego office - Selected candidates will operate out of the office working on a hybrid schedule (2-3 days in office)

Core Competencies:

  • Organization and strong communication skills (verbal and written) 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and Salesforce (CRM) 

  • Goal-oriented mindset with an eagerness to learn. 

Internship Schedule:

  • Full- time program for 10 weeks in the summer of 2026; Monday through Friday during dayshift for 40 hours a week

  • Dependent on team needs, work locations could be remote, hybrid or in office (Austin, Boston, Charlotte(Fort Mill), San Diego)

  • Interns should plan to participate for the entire program. Program dates: June 1, 2026-August 7, 2026


 

Hourly Rate:

$22-$25 per hour
 

The hourly amount is dependent on a number of factors, including the applicant’s skill, experience, and work location.
