Rotational Program Associate: Product and Business Development
Rotational Associates can expect to complete three 8-month rotational assignments within key areas of our Product and Business Development organizations such as Retirement Products, Product Development and Innovation, Business Strategy and Operations, and Business Development and Product Implementation.
Associates will build cross-functional proficiency by learning the techniques, skills and processes that deliver the highest quality results. Each rotation is designed to improve business acumen and build an overall understanding of TIAA's enterprise strategy. Rotation assignments are determined by a combination of business needs, skills and experience, and the associate's desired career path.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Gains knowledge across various business functions of Product and Business Development organization to help inform career trajectory.
  • Support a variety of projects by leveraging project management tools and processes to ensure seamless information flow across teams
  • Assists in preparing information and research materials by leveraging Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Complete required in-person, virtual, and on-demand trainings.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to help deliver on product or solution strategy
  • Conduct meetings with subject matter experts to understand product offerings, lifecycles, features, and benefits
  • Utilizes academic knowledge, skills and experience to apply tactics and strategies to solve real business challenges.

The TIAA Product & Business Development Rotational Program offers an exciting mix of strategically aligned assignments, professional development, and the ability to experience many facets of our organization during the two-year program. The environment is fast-paced, challenging, and full of growth opportunities. Candidates can expect to complete three rotational assignments within key areas of our Product & Business Development Organizations such as Retirement Products, Product Development & Innovation, Business Strategy & Operations, and Business Development & Product Implementation. Associates will build cross-functional proficiency by learning the techniques, disciplines and processes that deliver the highest quality results to our customers.

Rotation 1: Retirement Product, Product Development & Innovation, Business Strategy & Operations, or Business Development (8 months)

  • Retirement Products - Support product management activities for TIAA’s retirement products and solutions, including TIAA Traditional, Secure Income Account, GFA, TIAA Stable Value, CREF, Real Estate Account, Individual Retirement Accounts, RetirePlus, In-plan Managed Accounts (Retirement Plan Portfolio Manager (RPPM) and Advisor Managed Accounts (AMA)), as well as maintains TIAA’s enterprise National Accounts with over 450 fund providers.
  • Product Development & Innovation - Support new product development, innovation, and incubation for the organization's product and business development teams.
  • Business Strategy & Operations - Support business strategy and planning process to build and develop capabilities, driving execution discipline and operational effectiveness to deliver on our enterprise strategy.
  • Business Development - Support development of strategic partnerships and related business opportunities in the Corporate Retirement market for TIAA in addition to supporting third-party implementation efforts.

Rotation 2: Retirement Product, Product Development & Innovation, Business Strategy & Operations, or Business Development (8 months)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Participation in TIAA’s Summer Associate Internship Program
  • Background in financial services

Additional Requirements:

  • Must have graduated with a Bachelor's degree or higher prior to the program's start date

Anticipated Posting End Date:

Base Pay Range: $30.00/hr - $31.25/hr

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.  In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
