The Senior Principal Specialist, DC Performance (Operational Risk and Insurance) supports the Critical Operations team by providing structured ownership, coordination and operational oversight of DC Operations risk management, including TVRAs, Operational Risk Registers and insurance-related activities.
The role acts as a primary interface between Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC), DC site teams and Central teams to ensure DC Ops risks, risk requests, TVRA inputs (across 41 external threats), insurance site visit outcomes, and issues arising from Business Continuity/Crisis Management exercises are captured, assessed, tracked and progressed to closure.
The role ensures that DC Operations risks and insurance outputs are visible, consistently managed and translated into practical actions that strengthen operational maturity, audit readiness, business continuity effectiveness and stakeholder confidence across the global DC Operations environment.

The role ensures that DC Operations risks and insurance outputs are visible, consistently managed and translated into practical actions that strengthen operational maturity, audit readiness, business continuity effectiveness and stakeholder confidence across the global DC Operations environment.

KEY responsibilities

  • Design and implement a BCP and EOP harmonized program for scenario drills/exercises across GDC DC Ops, engaging with stakeholders and SMEs, as required. Compile any associated process and documents to support implementation, validating DC Site preparedness, and drive continual improvement.
  • Supporting TVRAs by managing identified risks and revisions – Primary interface with GRC, Central Functions and DC sites. In essence, establish a Global Operational Resilience Program to transform TVRA insights into: Actionable Mitigation strategies, Standardize readiness practices, Validated response capability through scenario testing.
  • Act as the primary DC Operations interface with GRC for operational risk topics, including risk register governance, TVRAs, risk methodology alignment, insurance risk/findings, risk review cycles and escalation of key associated issues.
  • Coordinate the capture, review and tracking of issues, actions and improvement opportunities arising from BCP, EOP and scenario drills exercises, as required.
  • Support DC Ops BIA (Business Impact Analysis) annual review
  • Own and maintain the DC Operations Risk Register in 6Clicks, ensuring risks are accurately recorded, structured, assessed, updated and monitored.
  • Review and coordinate DC Ops risk request forms submitted by DC site teams and Central teams for site-specific operational risks.
  • Work with GRC, Central teams and DC site stakeholders to validate risk information, clarify ownership, support assessment quality and monitor risk treatment actions.
  • Ensure risk status, treatment plans, evidence, comments and updates are maintained to support governance, audit readiness and management reporting.
  • Supporting DC site insurance visits – Primary interface with GRC, Central Functions and DC sites
  • Manage from a DC Ops perspective, the GRC findings platform/interfaces - 6clicks/Mcube
  • Manage the Community MS team DCOPS - Performance oversight

Key Performance Indicators:

  • To work with the NTT DATA GDC teams to define and implement a set of key performance indicator (KPI), performance indicators or metrics for DC Ops Risks, that are measurable and demonstrates how effectively the operational teams are performing against their objectives.

Reporting:

  • Provide regular reporting on DC Ops Risks against KPIs and schedule regular engagement meetings with stakeholders to address any KPI related issues and concerns. After these meetings, provide a regular status update on any concern relating to KPI performance.
  • Provide support and guidance on how to rectify and improve any reported non-conformance or performance issue identified.

Planning:

  • Develop realistic plans, set goals, align plans with NTT DATA GDC objectives and coordinates with others team members.

Problem solving:

  • Have the ability to break down problems into smaller components, understands underlying issues, can simplify any process complex issues, understands the difference between critical details and unimportant facts appropriate and escalate when required with strong input and guidance around options / recommendations.

KNOWLEDGE & ATTRIBUTES

  • Strong understanding of operational risk management, assurance, governance and issue management in a critical infrastructure or data center environment.
  • Structured, detail-oriented and target-driven approach with the ability to move actions from identification through to closure.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with GRC, Central teams, regional leadership and site teams.
  •  Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convert complex risk and assurance topics into clear operational requirements and management summaries.
  • Good analytical capability, including risk data interpretation, trend identification, Excel-based tracking and preparation of concise performance reports.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a matrixed, multinational and culturally diverse organization.
  • Strong service mindset with the confidence to challenge constructively, escalate appropriately and maintain governance discipline.
  • Modern leadership style and excellent leadership skill set.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Risk Management, Business, Facilities Management, or a related discipline.

Professional certifications such as:

  • Certified Risk Manager (CRM)
  • Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP)
  • Certified Data Centre Professional (CDCP)
  • Data Centre Risk Professional (DCRP)
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • 5–10 years’ experience in risk management, business continuity, crisis management, operational assurance, audit support, compliance or performance management is desirable.
  • Experience working with GRC teams, site operations teams and central functions in a global or regional operating environment.
  • Experience maintaining risk registers, action trackers, issue logs, audit/assessment outputs or assurance findings is highly beneficial.
  • Experience with 6Clicks or similar GRC/risk management platforms is desirable; strong Excel and Microsoft Teams capability is expected.
  • Experience in data center operations, critical infrastructure, facilities management or similarly operationally intensive environments is an advantage.
  • Working knowledge of Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA), continuous improvement and structured action management is desirable.
  • Proficient in English language both written and verbal.
  • Ability to travel to support site visits, coordination activities or stakeholder engagement, where required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequently move about inside and outside of data center / facility when carrying out DC Site Risk reviews or scenario drills / exercises
  • Operate computer, peripherals, and other office equipment.
  • Perform work during various business hours and time zones, to deliver required business outcomes

Work conditions & other requirements

  • Potential exposure to DC Risks during site reviews and should be reasonably mitigated.
  • Travel required 10-20% of time.
  • Perform work from a remote location with stable internet connection.

Compensation Pay Range

For roles residing in the US, we share pay and benefit levels to support pay transparency requirements. For other countries, we are more than happy to share our competitive pay and benefit levels during the interview process.


This is a remote position that requires reliable internet connection and electricity. A monthly stipend is provided to cover expenses associated with working remotely and use of a personal mobile device, if applicable.


NTT Global Data Centers Americas, Inc. offers competitive compensation based on experience, education, and location. Base salary for this position is:

$158,100 - $227,200

All regular full-time employees are eligible for an annual bonus; payout is dependent upon individual and company performance.
