Own architectural decisions, technical direction, and test strategy while collaborating with government engineers, vendors, product managers, researchers, and designers. Promote secure, compliant, agile engineering practices; coach government teams; evaluate technical environments; communicate recommendations; and demonstrate modern AI-assisted development practices. The role is fully remote, requires U.S. citizenship and CAC eligibility, and involves occasional quarterly travel to Air Force bases.

Own user research for a U.S. Air Force legacy modernization effort, including research planning, participant recruitment, qualitative and quantitative studies, usability testing, and communicating actionable findings. The role guides product and service direction, advocates for users, and mentors government partners in user-centered research practices. Leads complex U.S. Air Force consulting engagements from end to end, managing client relationships, multiple projects, vendors, stakeholders, risks, contracts, and delivery health. Applies agile methods, coaches teams and government partners, removes delivery obstacles, supports organizational transformation, and contributes to account growth, proposals, renewals, and business development.

Lead the migration of at least three public health jurisdictions annually from a legacy disease surveillance system to a modernized cloud platform. Own the migration service and product roadmap, coordinate DevSecOps, content design, and full-stack engineering teams, manage CDC and jurisdiction stakeholders, guide change management, facilitate delivery ceremonies, and use user feedback and data to improve adoption and product direction.

Provides epidemiology expertise for a CDC disease surveillance platform. Aligns workflows, data models, forms, and system functionality with public health policies and case investigation practices. Partners with CDC and STLT health departments, translates standards into implementation guidance, supports surveillance and data integration, prioritizes user needs, and represents epidemiologist perspectives across product, design, research, and engineering teams.

Build and maintain secure, compliant software for a CDC disease surveillance platform. Partner directly with health departments during onboarding, migration, and troubleshooting; diagnose product gaps and configuration issues; develop scripts, integrations, and configurations without forking the core platform; collaborate with platform, data, and epidemiology teams; and identify recurring jurisdiction needs for future product features.

Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code. Ensure security, compliance, monitoring, logging, and auditability for federal systems. Automate developer workflows, mentor engineers, improve processes, and support continuous delivery while meeting federal data-protection and compliance requirements.

Lead Skylight's Defense & Security business with P&L accountability: grow federal defense, justice, and homeland security engagements, drive business development and proposals, build strategic relationships, assemble and manage multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors, ensure high-quality client delivery, oversee operations (people, finance), and translate market insights into service offerings while supporting hiring, mentoring, and occasional travel.

Lead and scale Skylight's growth by building strategies that leverage SBIR/STTR contract vehicles, coordinate business development, capture, proposals, account management, and marketing alignment. Drive adoption of AI/automation in growth workflows, support bids & proposals, and partner with executives to win federal professional services contracts.
