The role requires deep technical-to-executive communication, strong knowledge of cybersecurity products, collaboration across teams, and approximately 50% travel.

Provides engineering services for power system automation and critical electrical infrastructure. Designs, configures, validates, installs, commissions, and supports automation and protection systems; trains customers; prepares functional design specifications and technical documentation; and delivers projects within scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety requirements. The role focuses on industrial controls, PLCs, communications protocols, Ethernet systems, and SEL products, with at least 25% domestic and international travel.

Lead the design and verification of IEC 61850 communication and automation capabilities in SEL products, mentoring cross-functional teams and providing system-level support.

Develop and maintain full stack applications: design, implement, and test frontend (React/TypeScript) and backend (C#/ASP.NET) components, produce specs and test documentation, collaborate with cross‑functional teams including firmware engineers, follow QA and engineering best practices, and contribute to high‑quality UI/UX. On-site in Charlotte, NC; background and drug screening required.

Lead engineering projects for substation design, manage technical applications of SEL solutions, mentor staff, and ensure environmental safety compliance.

As a Network Engineer for Power Systems, you will provide technical support, teach customers, and improve power system automation through innovative solutions. Responsibilities include managing communications systems and troubleshooting SEL products.

As a Senior Automation Engineer, you will develop and maintain automation solutions for power systems, lead projects, program PLC and SCADA applications, and support quality assurance checks while traveling 25% of the time.
