Build automated test frameworks, realistic workloads, fault-injection scenarios, performance and soak tests, and reproducible CI environments. Investigate failures using logs, metrics, traces, and source code, create minimal reproductions, and partner with engineers on fixes. Apply AI tools responsibly to accelerate test development, failure analysis, and debugging.

Own LanceDB’s technical product marketing, including benchmarks, demos, technical deep dives, reference architectures, competitive intelligence, sales enablement, and product update videos. Partner with Engineering, DevRel, Sales, customers, and external contributors to create credible technical proof for AI researchers and platform engineers. Build hands-on demos, translate technical results into market-facing content, support launches and events, and guide competitive positioning.

Build and optimize distributed Lance dataset operations, high-performance indices, table formats, and data encodings in Rust. Develop integrations with Spark, Hive Metastore, Presto, Trino, Ray, and other data infrastructure systems. Improve internal data processing infrastructure, contribute to open-source communities, and promote Lance through technical conferences. The role requires deep distributed systems expertise and extensive experience with high-performance databases, big data, or AI training systems.

Create and maintain developer documentation, tutorials, API references, troubleshooting guides, and runnable examples for LanceDB. Build documentation designed for both developers and AI agents, validate AI-generated content, maintain documentation tooling, automate code and link checks, and collaborate with engineering, product, and open-source communities. The role requires strong Python skills, database and data workflow knowledge, technical writing expertise, and experience with Git-based development workflows.

Conduct open-ended AI research focused on end-to-end training workflows using LanceDB. Design replicable experiments and benchmarks, demonstrate workflows across AI domains, develop content, publish research and models, and collaborate with engineering and product teams. The role requires deep learning expertise, experience training state-of-the-art models, open-source software development, strong prioritization, product awareness, and staying current with AI research.

Own LanceDB’s product direction by shaping the roadmap with technical leadership, researching users and competitors, gathering continuous user insight, and driving cross-functional prioritization. The role partners closely with engineering as a technically respected peer, defines product changes for AI and data-platform users, uses metrics and experiments to guide decisions, and operates with high ownership in an ambiguous environment.

Build LanceDB’s revenue marketing function and enterprise demand engine from the ground up. Own account-based marketing strategy, segmentation, campaigns, content, account planning, martech implementation, pipeline reporting, and partner co-marketing. Identify high-intent accounts through open-source and product-usage signals, create tailored omnichannel programs, and collaborate closely with founders, Sales, RevOps, and Partners to source and influence enterprise pipeline.

As a Senior Support Engineer, you will enhance customer support for LanceDB by building infrastructure, maintaining knowledge-bases, troubleshooting customer issues, and collaborating with engineering teams. Your expertise in distributed databases and proficiency in Rust and Python will help optimize cloud-native database deployments.

Trusted technical advisor for strategic customers to deploy, operate, and scale LanceDB. Lead onboarding, architecture reviews, and performance tuning; troubleshoot distributed-system issues; build dashboards and enablement; collaborate with sales engineering and product/engineering to influence roadmap and resolve escalations; contribute runbooks, tooling, and processes for post-sales success.

Lead technical partner enablement and co-delivery for LanceDB: onboard and train partner engineers, run PoCs and architecture reviews, author reference architectures and deployment blueprints, relay partner feedback to product, and support GTM and thought-leadership activities to scale partner integrations.
