Own the architecture and technical direction of conversational AI and voice-ordering systems. Design reliable, low-latency backend services for live drive-thru traffic, lead cross-system integrations with POS and hardware, improve AI evaluation and observability, mentor engineers, and resolve complex production issues involving real-time audio, distributed services, and third-party integrations.

Research and improve real-time conversational AI for voice drive-thru ordering. Responsibilities include advancing speech, intent, turn-taking, voice activity detection, and order-accuracy models; curating and generating data for rare scenarios; building statistically rigorous benchmarks; evaluating audio and conversational quality under real-time constraints; and translating research into production improvements with applied AI and backend teams.

Own the architecture and technical direction of conversational AI and voice-ordering systems. Lead cross-cutting initiatives, mentor engineers, partner with product and operations, and resolve complex issues involving real-time audio, third-party integrations, and distributed services.

Own and improve the end-to-end AI engine powering real-time voice drive-thru agents. Design conversational and order-taking logic, address turn-taking and noisy audio challenges, build evaluation infrastructure, and ensure accurate recommendations, substitutions, pricing, and POS integrations across restaurant brands. The role involves researching and deploying new AI techniques, training and productionizing machine learning models, and converting ambiguous quality issues into measurable improvements.

Owns firmware and host software for field-deployed edge devices powering an AI voice drive-thru system. Responsibilities include developing microcontroller firmware, managing real-time full-duplex audio pipelines, designing serial communication and health monitoring, debugging hardware/software integrations, enabling fleet deployment and remote management, and implementing reliable recovery and over-the-air updates.
