Premier, a healthcare performance improvement platform headquartered in Charlotte, announced its acquisition of IllumiCare, a healthtech firm offering cost attribution technology. The move will expand Premier’s reach within the clinical decision support sector.

IllumiCare’s technology platform combines clinical and financial data at the point of care, supplying providers with real-time data on treatment costs to help them make cost-effective clinical decisions. IllumiCare currently serves more than 82,000 providers and is compatible with over 50 electronic medical record systems.

The platform’s capabilities complement Premier’s existing clinical decision support technology, and the acquisition will better equip the company to help health systems close care gaps, improve coding accuracy, support outpatient risk capture, optimize clinical trial recruitment and offer value-based payment models.

Premier will begin marketing the acquired solution under its Stanson Health brand in summer 2025.
