About the Role

Do you love sports?  No, I mean do you really love sports?  Do you love the advertising space?  If you're reading this post then you're already potentially one step closer to the next epic journey in your sports advertising career.  At MediaRadar we wake up every day thinking about how we help our clients understand the world of advertising intelligence.  Whether it's competitive intelligence around what advertisers are spending and where, or it's diving into the creative messaging that brands are using in our creative intelligence platform, we seek to pull together the most comprehensive set of media coverage in the industry.

We also wake up every single day thinking about how to build a culture of diverse thought leadership, team players and quite frankly just A+ humans that come to the table each day and enjoy problem solving with their colleagues no matter the topic.  I want this person to invest just as much energy in feeling good about WHO they are working with as they do in assessing WHAT they are working on.

Now to the fun part.  We've pulled together unparalleled media coverage that spans $280B in advertising spend, and we are focused on continuing to expand and refine coverage across the entirety of that landscape.  We're pushing our chips in on the sports industry, and this is where we need you.  As we look to navigate the space and continue to add to our existing sports coverage the ideal candidate will help us traverse the market and find out what advertising data sets and media coverage matter most to those investing in sports.  You'll be a self motivated team player with a product development skillset and mentality that is primed to help us on the next leg of our expanded coverage journey together.  If this sounds like something for you then below are a few more details on ideal attributes for the role.

Requirements

What You’ve Done:

  • 5+ years of product management experience, ideally within SaaS, data, or media technology companies.
  • 5+ years of experience in the sports industry, ideally within leagues, teams, sports media agencies, or the sports vertical of a media company.
  • Demonstrated success in shipping products that have driven measurable customer or business outcomes in data-rich environments.
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and executional skills with a proven ability to prioritize and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams—including Engineering, Data, and Sales—through all phases of the product lifecycle.
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to connect product strategy to customer value.
  • A deep passion for sports, sports media, and advertising, coupled with curiosity about emerging trends in sponsorship, fan engagement, and media consumption.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, data analytics, and visualization tools is a plus.

What You’ll Do:

Strategy & Product Vision

  • Set and sustain a customer-centric product roadmap for one product area in partnership with Sales, CS, Product Marketing, Engineering, and Product Leadership.
  • Leverage customer feedback to identify, size/quantify, and prioritize business opportunities.

Execution & Delivery

  • Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily scrums, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to ensure on-time and quality delivery through strong agile SDLC framework discipline.
  • Maximize engineering and design team value delivery by writing clear and user-centric product requirements and user stories and driving collective team improvement in partnership with engineering & design team leads.

Customer Empathy & Alignment

  • Assess, validate, communicate, and deliver on customer feedback to determine strategic alignment, appropriately manage expectations, and adapt the product roadmap.
  • Support successful, proactive go-to-market by developing client-facing documentation, demos, and Sales/CS enablement resources (talk tracks, FAQs, etc.) in concert with Product Marketing.
  • Engage with customers to build customer empathy and understanding of their needs.

Performance & Optimization

  • Track and report on the achievement of post-launch success criteria and customer feedback with action plans for future improvements and roadmap items.
  • Support data quality initiatives and investigations in conjunction with engineering, data science, and customer support teams.

In addition to career progression, training and development, and an excellent work/life balance, future Radarians can expect a great benefits package that includes:

  • Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance
