This is a REMOTE position with up to 85% travel required. Ideal candidates should be based near a major metropolitan area or airport for easy access to travel. A valid driver’s license and passport are required for international travel to Canada.

The Special Operations Manager is part of a travel team that provides operational support to warehouses across the United States including implementing new IT systems in conjunction with project management and information technology partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead WMS System Implementation: Collaborate with the Information Technology team to successfully implement Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ensuring smooth integration with existing operations.

  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory processes to ensure alignment with Lineage operating standards and efficient stock management.

  • Training & Support: Provide training, coaching, and hands-on support to front-line leaders and hourly team members, enhancing their operational effectiveness and ensuring consistent performance.

  • Metrics & Performance Management: Champion the achievement of site and company-wide performance metrics, with a focus on maintaining safety standards and continuous operational improvement.

  • Operational Stabilization: Ensure the stability of operations before and after WMS system conversions or upgrades, minimizing disruptions and maintaining operational flow.

  • Subject Matter Expertise: Offer expert guidance and support to facilities experiencing operational instability, leveraging in-depth knowledge to resolve issues quickly and effectively.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or 4+ years of relevant experience in warehouse operations.

  • Communication & Leadership:

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with individuals at all levels of the organization.

    • Capable of delivering training sessions in both one-on-one and group settings.

  • Operational Expertise:

    • Ability to become certified to operate all warehouse equipment and drive safe, efficient processes.

    • Previous exposure to Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or demonstrated aptitude for technology adoption.

  • Initiative & Innovation:

    • Proven track record of driving operational initiatives and fostering personnel development.

  • Technical Proficiency:

    • Highly skilled in Microsoft Office Suite and other warehouse management tools.

  • Flexibility & Availability:

    • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, as required by operational demands.

    • Ability to travel up to 85% of the time.
