Purpose:

We are seeking a Personal Injury Paralegal to join our growing team. This individual will play a critical role in case development, client communication, and overall case management in litigated cases. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, customer-focused, and empathetic, with a strong ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment.

This position will require on-site presence at our office in Minneapolis. The salary range is a base of $72,000 - $85,000 per year, plus bonus incentives and benefits available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administratively manage all phases of personal injury litigation, including pleadings, motion practice, discovery, trial, appellate procedure, and communication with clients, opposing parties, courts, experts, and vendors.
  • Assist with drafting and then file pleadings, discovery requests/responses, briefs, appeals, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct factual and legal research using Westlaw and other sources for attorney use.
  • Cite-check legal documents to confirm citations and authorities are to Bluebook standards, Shepardize authorities, and verify accuracy of quoted material and cited exhibits.
  • Organize and maintain a high volume of case files, pleadings, expert materials, attorney notebooks, case calendars, trial exhibits, and other documents in hard copy and on electronic case management systems.
  • Track deadlines for filings, hearings, and discovery responses.
  • Coordinate depositions, medical examinations, and court appearances.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular status updates and support.
  • Assist attorneys in negotiating settlements, advocating for the client’s best interests.
  • Work directly with attorneys and collaborate with team members to ensure seamless support of each case, including assistance with pre-suit case management responsibilities when needed.

Skills:

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple cases, deadlines, and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive client relationships.
  • High attention to detail and ability to maintain organized case records and documents.
  • Proficiency in legal case management software, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), and e-filing systems.
  • Ability to maintain a thorough understanding of rules and procedures for various federal and state jurisdictions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Personal Injury Paralegal role preferred.
  • Experience in a high-volume personal injury practice is highly preferred.
  • Experience with courts’ CM/ECF systems, PACER, Bluebook, and Westlaw preferred.
  • ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate preferred.
