Your Impact
The Lead Enterprise Architect leads the development of target-state architectures, roadmaps, and solutions, focusing on technologies at the product group level or within an architecture domain. This includes working with development teams, building and delivering architecture solutions, and/or providing guidance to ensure that program and project architectures adhere to target-state architectures, standards, and roadmaps. The Lead Enterprise Architect plays a critical role in ensuring continuity of architecture and alignment to the organization's technology direction.
What You Will Do
• Ensures current state enterprise architectures are well defined and domain specific architectures are in alignment with enterprise level strategy and direction; proposes new architecture where appropriate.• Builds architecture solutions for individual technologies, typically within one architecture domain, and participates in the process of building more complex cross-domain architecture solutions with input and direction from principal enterprise architects.• Produces documents for review by the Architecture Review Board; promotes the value and functional application of architectural governance, standards, guidelines, and patterns.• Consults application owners at the product group level to identify weaknesses and develop improvements; works with leadership to prioritize improvement projects.• Research technology industry trends to determine their potential impact on area of focus.• Educates and helps the business to incorporate enterprise architecture standards, policies, and best practices to ensure consistency across the organization.• Creates architecture roadmaps at the product group level for the introduction and retirement of technology, cost/risk reduction and optimization, adherence to architectural standards, and the continual enablement of business strategies.
Minimum Qualifications • 8 years of IT experience• 5 years of experience in IT system design or architecture• 2 years of experience leading technical teams with or without direct reports• Experience defining target state architectures and roadmaps• Experience working in a large matrixed organization• Experience in an IT role requiring interaction with senior leadership• Bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science, computer information systems (CIS), engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree)
Preferred Skills/ Experience • 3 years of experience with commercial off-the-shelf package integration• 2 years of experience working with third party IT vendors and/or IT system solution providers• 2 years of experience working with enterprise architecture frameworks• IT experience in retail industry
