The Opportunity
The Lead Multimedia Engineer is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of Multimedia and AV infrastructure initiatives across MetLife's global environment. This role combines deep technical expertise with project and program leadership to ensure solutions are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned to enterprise standards.
The position serves as the accountable engineering lead across Conference Room Technology, Collaboration Services, Digital Signage, and IPTV, providing governance over design, execution, and operational readiness. Key Responsibilities
Project & Program Delivery Leadership
- Lead full lifecycle delivery of multimedia and AV projects, including new installations, upgrades, and enterprise initiatives
- Drive alignment across Multimedia Engineering and internal business stakeholders
- Manage project scope, risks, dependencies, and timelines, ensuring delivery commitments are met
- Support prioritization and planning of lifecycle refresh initiatives and capital projects
Engineering Oversight & Design Authority
- Own and enforce multimedia engineering standards, including system design, configurations, and deployment models
- Provide technical leadership and approval across all project designs to ensure consistency, scalability, and reliability
- Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues impacting delivery or production environments
- Maintain clear separation between internal engineering authority and third-party execution
Vendor & MSP Delivery Governance
- Direct and oversee vendors and Managed Service Providers responsible for system deployment and implementation
- Ensure adherence to defined scope, standards, SLAs, and contractual requirements
- Mitigate delivery risks and enforce accountability for quality and timelines
- Support vendor selection processes, including RFP input and technical evaluation
Platform Engineering & Technical Execution
- Configure, support, and optimize multimedia platforms including:
- Conference room AV systems and collaboration technologies (Cisco, MTR)
- IPTV distribution and content delivery systems
- Digital signage and content management platforms
- Control systems (Crestron, Extron)
- Utilize platforms such as Webex Control Hub and Crestron XIO for diagnostics, performance management, and issue resolution
- Provide advanced troubleshooting across endpoints, infrastructure, and integrated systems
Operational Readiness & Support Alignment
- Ensure all deployed solutions meet operational support requirements, including monitoring, documentation, and support models
- Partner with Operations teams to define support processes, escalation paths, and service levels
- Support enterprise monitoring and observability initiatives for multimedia environments
- Provide advanced support for distributed and remote locations as required
Documentation & Process Standardization
- Develop and maintain engineering documentation including:
- System designs and functional specifications
- Deployment standards and build guides
- Operational procedures and user documentation
- Drive standardization and repeatable processes across global deployments
- Contribute to automation and process improvement initiatives
Adoption, Training & Continuous Improvement
- Promote adoption of multimedia tools and platforms through user education and best practice guidance
- Lead training sessions for internal teams and end users
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to inform strategy and innovation
- Identify opportunities to improve user experience, reliability, and delivery efficiency
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in multimedia/AV engineering, infrastructure, or related IT environments.
- 5+ years of experience with enterprise collaboration platforms (Cisco, Microsoft Teams Rooms).
- Proven experience leading end-to-end technical project delivery across multiple locations or regions.
- Strong knowledge of AV systems, control platforms (Crestron/Extron), and integrated environments.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and drive execution
Preferred Qualifications
- Project Management certification (PMP or equivalent) or demonstrated project/ program leadership experience.
- Experience working in Scrum/ Agile methodologies
- Experience with Power BI or other reporting/analytics platforms
- 5+ years of experience with IPTV and digital signage technologies
- Experience operating within vendor or MSP-supported delivery models
- Familiarity with Azure Active Directory, LDAP, and enterprise identity solutions
- Experience with scripting or automation tools
- Knowledge of Windows and Linux server environments, networking, and security infrastructure
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate)
- Experience in financial services or highly regulated environments
