About the Role:

We’re looking for an Investment Analyst to join our growing Investment Solutions team. This is a hybrid role that blends quantitative modeling, product development, and collaboration and communication with multiple Halo teams.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working across technical and strategic domains.

Internal Strategy & Product Work:

  • Contribute to ongoing development of Aura, Halo’s financial simulation/modeling tool, including updates to capital market assumptions, simulation logic, debugging, and inquiries from internal and external stakeholders
  • Support projects involving retirement distribution modeling and sequence-of-returns analysis, building out simulations that can support thought leadership, allowing us to quickly and accurately create analytically-driven content
  • Assist in designing presentations for CIO-level investment discussions and roadmap planning
  • Work with leadership on ad-hoc requests, including data analysis/reporting, custom investment models, and competitive research for product positioning
  • Provide comparative analysis of SMAs and alternative products. Update and refine capital market assumptions and simulation inputs

Client-Facing Support:

  • Support portfolio analysis and investment product development, particularly structured notes and alternative investments
  • Prepare custom client proposals and presentations, including scenario modeling and research into retirement distributions, sequence-of-returns risk, and portfolio optimization
  • Participate in client-facing sales calls and assist in responding to client requests
  • Conduct competitive analysis of investment strategies, SMAs, and custom portfolios

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or related field
  • Proficiency in analytical programming language
  • Strong Excel skills and familiarity with financial modeling, including tables, graphs and charts
  • Experience building or working with investment simulations/backtesters
  • Ability to communicate quantitative findings clearly and visually to non-technical stakeholders
  • Comfortable with some “grunt work” — data input, QA testing, etc. — as part of a lean team
  • Curious, self-motivated, and highly detail-oriented
  • Familiarity with structured products or a willingness to learn quickly
  • Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., LLMs, Excel add-ins, or automation platforms) is a plus

Benefits and Compensation:

Get ready for an incredible opportunity with a company that values and rewards its employees. We offer a competitive package of great benefits that will make your work life both fulfilling and enjoyable.

  • Work with a great team in an exciting work environment
  • Opportunities for continued professional growth
  • Competitive compensation package: Annual base salary of $60,000 to $80,000.
  • Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision insurance, life & disability, etc.
  • Multiple voluntary benefits: identity protection, pet insurance, accident insurance and more!
  • Flexible PTO policy
  • 401k program to help build wealth for the future
  • Paid parental leave to bond with your new addition
  • Chicago-based employees have access to a company-paid, on-site gym, happy hours, and ad-hoc outings and activities like sports teams, volunteer events and more!
