Core Responsibilities

  • Completes rotation objectives across any one of Vanguard’s primary and complex business while driving value-add initiatives focused on decision making in key business areas.
  • Delivers high quality results for all projects and assignments during the course of each rotation; applies the overall department goals to accomplish specific project assignments.
  • Engages with internal partners to understand business strategy, questions, and goals. Brings structure to business requests, translates requirements into an analytical project approach, and supports projects through completion.
  • Acquires and compiles structured and unstructured data and verifies its quality, accuracy and reasonableness.
  • Takes ownership of personal and professional development through: participation in program-initiated meetings and projects, attending all training sessions required by the program or rotational assignments and creating and maintaining a personal plan to track development and accomplishments throughout the year.
  • Develops a strong understanding of Vanguard's data methodology, including approaches to structured and unstructured data, AWS Stack, cloud architecture, Tableau and other reporting tools and all relevant systems.
  • Navigates assigned division and ancillary data departments by building a comprehensive network of contacts that can be leveraged to complete assigned tasks.
  • Demonstrates accountability for issues by accepting ownership throughout the problem resolution process.
  • Develops a broad understanding of the Vanguard Divisions, strategies, and initiatives and a deep understanding of CDAO.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree required. Preferred majors include, but not limited to, Business Analytics, Data & Analytics, Statistics, Math, Computer Science or STEM majors.
  • Experience in financial services or data analytics internships preferred but not required.
